Nguyen Trai–a national hero, an excellent culturist, a judicious politician, an outstanding military counsellor, a genius diplomat and a great poet. The article does not aim to present the whole concept of Nguyen Trai, but rather to analyze his concept of the right way to be human in his work “Quốc âm thi tập” (Collected poems in the National Language) and from there put forward its significance in Vietnam’s modern society. Keywords: Collected poems in the National Language; The right way to be human; Wanting a peaceful life; Loyalty to the king -Patriotism

Improved Time and Frequency Synchronization Algorithm for 802.11a Wireless Standard based on the SIGNAL Field

International audienceTime and frequency synchronization in the IEEE 802.11a OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) wireless communication system is addressed in this paper. Usually synchronization algorithms rely only on training sequences specified by the standard. To enhance the synchronization between stations, we propose to extract known information by both the transmitter and the receiver at the IEEE 802.11a physical layer to be then exploited by the receiver in addition to the training sequences. Indeed the parts of the identified SIGNAL field are either known or predictable from the RtS (Request to Send) control frame when the CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) mechanism is triggered jointly to bit-rate adaptation algorithms to the channel. Moreover the received RtS control frame allows the receiver to estimate the channel before time synchronization stage improving then the performance of the proposed synchronization algorithm. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed synchronization algorithm is improved as compared to existing algorithms

Deep Learning-Based Signal Detection for Dual-Mode Index Modulation 3D-OFDM

In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based signal detector called DuaIM-3DNet for dual-mode index modulation-based three-dimensional (3D) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DM-IM-3D-OFDM). Herein, DM-IM-3D- OFDM is a subcarrier index modulation scheme which conveys data bits via both dual-mode 3D constellation symbols and indices of active subcarriers. Thus, this scheme obtains better error performance than the existing IM schemes when using the conventional maximum likelihood (ML) detector, which, however, suffers from high computational complexity, especially when the system parameters increase. In order to address this fundamental issue, we propose the usage of a deep neural network (DNN) at the receiver to jointly and reliably detect both symbols and index bits of DM-IM-3D-OFDM under Rayleigh fading channels in a data-driven manner. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed DNN detector achieves near-optimal performance at significantly lower runtime complexity compared to the ML detector

CFD results on hydrodynamic performances of a marine propeller

In this work, the commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), ANSYS-Fluent V.14.5 has been used to illustrate the effects of rudder and blade pitch on hydrodynamic performances of a propeller. At first, the characteristic curves of a container ship propeller are computed. Then, effects of rudder on hydrodynamic performances of the propeller in the both cases of the propeller with and without rudder have been investigated. The relationships between the blade pitch angle and the hydrodynamic performances of the selected referent propeller in this work having designed conditions as diameter of 3.65 m; speed of 200 rpm; average pitch of 2.459 m and the boss ratio of 0.1730. Using CFD, the characteristic curves of the marine propeller, pressure distribution, velocity distribution around propeller and the efficiency of the propeller have been shown. From the obtained results, the effects of rudder and blade pitch angle on hydrodynamic performances of the propeller have been evaluated
