Architectural model making in Europe in 1920s–1940s is overviewed by decade to identify the functions performed by architectural model in addition to those already recognized: representation, working model, and education. Overall, 58 models have been described and analyzed. The following functions have been added to the traditional functions: photo model, modular construction testing, promotion model, and fit demonstration.
