Legal and historical realities present challenges to range and natural resources management not seen outside of Indian Country.•Cooperative Extension educational programs are highly valued for their important impact on Agriculture and Natural Resources in counties. These programs exist on less then 10% of America’s Indian Reservations. Federally Recognized Tribal Extension Program (FRTEP) personnel, in the few places where they are funded, are a sought after resource to tribal individuals and communities in Indian Country
