Depuis environ dix ans, les biographies des Pères fondateurs de la nation américaine connaissent un succès populaire sans doute inégalé dans le passé. Certaines sont l’œuvre de spécialistes universitaires de la jeune République américaine, tels Joseph J. Ellis avec Passionate Sage : The Character and Legacy of John Adams (1993), American Sphinx : The Character of Thomas Jefferson (1996, National Book Award), puis Founding Brothers : The Revolutionary Generation (2000, Prix Pulitzer) et enfin ..

Chapter 27 RECOVERING ALTERNATIVE PRESENTATION MODELS OF A WEB PAGE WITH VAQUITA

    No full text
Abstract VAQUITA allows developers to reverse engineer a presentation model of a web page according to multiple reverse engineering options. The alternative models offered by these options not only widen the spectrum of possible presentation models but also encourage developers in exploring multiple reverse engineering strategies. The options provide filtering capabilities in a static analysis of HTML code that are targeted either at multiple widgets simultaneously or at single widgets at a time, for their attributes and other manipulations. This flexibility is particularly important when the presentation model is itself used to migrate the presentation of the web page to other types of user interfaces, possibly written in different languages, in different computing platforms

Valeurs humaines et attitude à l’égard du spectacle sportif médiatique : une approche psycho-sociologique

International audienceObjective: The aim of this study is to test the potential relationship between Schwartz et al. (2012) [Schwartz, S.H., Cieciuch, J., Vecchione, M., Davidov, E., Fischer, R., Beierlein, C., Ramos, A., Verkasalo, M., Lönnqvist, J.E., Demirutku, K., Dirilen-Gumus, O., & Konty, M. (2012). Refining the theory of basic individual values. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 103 , 663-688.] refined values and attitudes toward media sporting event. Methodology: 383 students from “Paris Lumière” university ( M age = 23.46, ET = 6.78; 178 women M age = 24.66, ET = 8.50; 209 students in sports sciences, M age = 20.92, ET = 2.70) completed both the PVQ-RR-57 to measure the 19 Schwartz’ values and 7 questions measuring their attitude toward media sporting events. Results: Regressions analysis show that achievement, tradition, and face values predict a positive attitude toward media sporting events, while benevolence and humility values predict a negative attitude toward media sporting events. Conclusion and perspectives: These results provide an interesting insight concerning media sporting events and the values they convey, and this even more so since gender and type of studies (sports sciences versus other studies) moderated the results.Objectif : L’objectif de cette étude est de tester les relations potentielles qui pourraient exister entre les différentes valeurs du modèle affiné de Schwartz et al. (2012) [Schwartz, S.H., Cieciuch, J., Vecchione, M., Davidov, E., Fischer, R., Beierlein, C., Ramos, A., Verkasalo, M., Lönnqvist, J.E., Demirutku, K., Dirilen-Gumus, O., & Konty, M. (2012). Refining the theory of basic individual values. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 103 , 663-688.] et l’attitude à l’égard du spectacle sportif médiatique (SSM).

Flavor-active compounds potentially implicated in cooked cauliflower acceptance

    No full text
International audienceThe aim of the present study was to determine the flavor-active compounds responsible for the "sulfur" and "bitter" flavors of cooked cauliflower potentially implicated in cauliflower rejection by consumers. Eleven varieties of cauliflower were cooked and assessed by a trained sensory panel for flavor profile determination. Among the 13 attributes, the varieties differed mainly according to their "cauliflower odor note" and their "bitterness". Various glucosinolates were quantified by HPLC and correlated with bitterness intensity. The results showed that neoglucobrassicin and sinigrin were responsible for the bitterness of cooked cauliflower. Application of Dynamic Headspace GC-Olfactometry and DH-GC-MS showed that allyl isothiocyanate (AITC), dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS), dimethyl sulfide (DMS), and methanethiol (MT) were the key odorants of cooked cauliflower "sulfur" odors. Moreover, these volatile compounds corresponded to the main compositional differences observed between varieties. Finally, AITC, DMTS, DMS, MT, sinigrin, and neoglucobrassicin were shown to be potential physicochemical determinants of cooked cauliflower acceptance
