Background and Objective: With the outbreak of COVID-19 and  teaching a comprehensive nursing care in Navid system of Babol Medical Science University. A survey was conducted to determine the effective strategy in teaching the comprehensive care in intensive care units as an effective solution. Methods: The present study was descriptive and was conducted in the research community of sixth semester nursing students of Ramsar College. samples were 31 student. Three software ( reading ECG, dialysis and multimedia pacemaker), the multimedia films that the teacher produced from his PowerPoint and Also downloaded videos that have been translated into Persian, All were uploaded to the system. WhatsApp program was also used during teaching. Finally, students' satisfaction was assessed with a Likert form. Findings: 31 students participated in this study. Application of multimedia strategy with the learning rate of the samples showed a significant direct relationship( P = 0.78). Satisfaction with the application of this strategy in education was 81. 82.8 of students were dissatisfied with the weakness of the Internet in their homes in receiving messages and content. Sound quality and design of the loading content of over 90 percent were satisfied. Conclusion: E-learning as a flexible method, which provides access to multimedia and attractive educational content for nursing students and nurses at any time and place, is also one of the most effective educational methods in the era of coronavirus

Abstract Background: One of the common and important health problems is failure to thrive in childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on preventive behaviors of failure to thrive in mothers with children based on health belief model. Materials and Methods: This study is an interventional one in which 100 mothers with children one to five years involved (samples divided into two case and control groups, each of 50) sampling was done by a simple random method. For collecting information, a researcher-made questionnaire based on the health belief model and performance check list were used. Then, case group was trained for one month. 3 months after training, data were gathered and analyzed by Spss20 software. In addition to descriptive statistics, tests such as Chi-square, paired t-test and independent T-test were used. Results: The mean age of case and control was 29.98±5.51 and 25.35±5.30 years old, respectively. The average age of children was 23.31 ± 13.14 and 27.55 ± 14.01months, respectively. Before the intervention, no significant difference was seen between groups. The average score in case group before intervention was as: knowledge(31.87±14.24), perceived susceptibility(64.23±5.86), perceived severity(64.41±9.34), perceived benefits(61.75±6.79), perceived barriers(67.91±8.14), self-efficacy(68.00±7.87), cues to action(44.53±6.82) and action(70.00±9.77). However, after the intervention, significant differences between groups in all variables were obserred. Conclusion: According to the results, education based on health belief model is recommended for promoting preventive behaviors of failure to thrive

Background and Aims: loneliness has some implications for health. The relationship between loneliness and nutritional status requires careful and principled investigation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between loneliness and nutritional status of the elderly. Methods: 440 elderly 60 years and older individuals from Social Security Administration, Education Retirees Association, and Health Center were selected randomly Descriptive-Analytical study in 2018. Data collection tools included demographic information questionnaire, UCLA loneliness scale (20-80 Score in four levels; without loneliness, low, moderate and high) and mini nutritional assessment (0-30 score at three levels of malnutrition, at risk of malnutrition and normal nutritional status). Results: The Mean ± SD age for the participants was 65.32(6.22). The relationship between nutritional status and loneliness of 68 elderly people without feeling alone (< 20), 85.3% had normal nutritional status, of 317 elderly people with low loneliness (39- 21), 80.4% had normal nutritional status. Of 52 elderly people with moderate loneliness (59-40), 63.5% were at risk of malnutrition. Loneliness in the elderly was significantly associated with an increased risk of malnutrition (OR = 4.2276, P = 0.00). Conclusion: According to the felling of loneliness, more than half of the elderly and the reverse connection between the feelings of loneliness with the state of nutrition, holding free consultation classes in order to reduce the feeling of retired elderly loneliness by the politicians of the health system

Perspectives of Oncology Unit Nurse Managers on Missed Nursing Care: A Qualitative Study

    No full text
Objective: The main objective of this study was to explore factors affecting missed nursing care in oncology units from the perspective of nurse managers. Methods: Twenty nurse managers working at oncology units of referral teaching hospitals in Iran participated in this study. Data were collected through individual face-to-face and telephonic interviews using an interview guide. Focus groups were also conducted. Data were analyzed using conventional content analysis. Results: System structure, underlying factors, and barriers to missed-care reports were identified as factors that affect missed nursing care. Conclusions: Nurse managers should reduce the effects of nursing staff shortages and increased workloads in addition to providing materials and equipment. They need to distribute experienced staff according to the type of ward or patients' needs. Nurse managers should create a favorable environment for reporting missed nursing care by having an open relationship with nurses by teaching and emphasizing nursing practice. Moreover, using a nonpunitive managerial approach and minimizing the use of an apathetic management style can be helpful

Inhibitory effect of G2013 molecule as a novel immunomodulatory agent, on miR-155 gene expression in HEK-Blue hTLR4 cell line

Lack of regulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) expression has been observed in some autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. G2013, as a novel non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with the immunomodulatory property, has been shown the positive effects in multiple sclerosis and anti-ageing experimental models. This research aimed to study the inhibitory effect of G2013 on miR-155 gene expression using HEK-Blue hTLR4 and Null2 cell lines. Total RNA was extracted from the treated and control cells. cDNA was made for miRNA and expression levels of miR-155 were detected by quantitative Real-time PCR using a specific primer together with U6 as the internal reference gene. A non-significant reduction was observed in the gene expression level of miR-155 in the HEK-Blue hTLR4 and Null2 cell lines under the influence of a low dose of G2013. In contrast, adding lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to the mentioned cells led to a significant increase in miR-155 expression, whereas addition of LPS four hours after exposing the cells with G2013 could not increase the expression level of this miRNA ( P < 0.05). Collectively, this research showed that G2013, as a novel NSAID with immunomodulatory property is able to significantly decrease the gene expression of miR-155 following stimulation by LPS
