Effect of Hyperprolactinemia Induced by Prolactinoma (MtT/F84) on the Accessory Sexual Organs of Male Rat
A new transplantable prolactinoma, designated MtT/F84 has been serially passaged in female F344 rats. Persistently high levels of serum prolactin could be achieved in male F344 rats by MtT/F84 inoculating under the skin.
This investigation deals with the effects of hyperprolactinemia upon the accessory sexual organs of male rats during puberty. The weights and the concentrations of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the dorsal prostate increased significantly in rats with moderate hyperprolactinemia (756 ± 179 ng/ml), but they in rats with marked hyperprolactinemia (3612 ± 1089 ng/ml) were similar t.o those of control rats. In contrast, serum testosterone levels (0.52 ± 0/17 ng/ml) in those of hyperprolactinemic rats were significantly decreased compared to that of controls (1.11± 0.13 ng/ml).
These results suggested that the growth-promoting effect of prolactin on the rat prostate mediated through the action of androgen varied according to the degree of hyperprolactinemia
Regulation of 3β-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Activity in Rat Testis under Hyperprolactinemia and Excessive 17β-Estradiol
The effects of hyperprolactinemia on the activity of 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD) in rat testis were studied during excessive 17β-estradiol (E2) administration. Without E2 treatment, 3β-HSD activity did not change significantly in moderate hyperprolactinemic rats (756 ± 179 ng/ml). However, this enzyme activity was significantly decreased in marked hyperprolactinemic rats (3612 ± 1090 ng/ml) compared to that in control rats (45.4 ± 6.2 ng/ml). Under the excessive E2 administration, this enzyme activity was insignificantly decreased in slight hyperprolactinemic rats (218 ± 42 ng/ml1 and inhibited in moderate hyperprolactinemic rats (566 ± 77 ng/ml) as refer to control level.
It may be concluded that inhibition of 3β-HSD activity in testis due to the excess administration of estrogen is promoted by the transplantation of MtT/F84 which produces prolactin at the limited level
アサーション トレーニング ト ヤガイ カツドウ ノ カンケイセイ
アサーションとは,コミュニケーションを表現する技法のひとつであり,一般社会だけではなく,学校現場においても,その重要性が示唆される。また,コミュニケーションの機会が多く考えられる野外活動との関連性を考えることを本研究の目的とした。対象は,大学生15名(実験群8名,対照群7名)とした。実験群は野外活動と共に筆者が考案したアサーション的コミュニケーション技術教育を実施し,対照群はアサーション的コミュニケーション技術教育のみを実施した。また,活動の前と活動終了後,終了1ヶ月後に調査を行った。主な結果として,野外活動にアサーション的コミュニケーション技術教育を組み込むことによって,参加者にアサーティブな態度を身に付けさせることができ,且つその効果の持続性が長く保存されることが明らかとなった。Assertion is one of the techniques for expressing communication, and its importance is suggested not only in the general society but also in the school field. The purpose of this research was to consider the relevance to outdoor activities where there are many opportunities for communication. The subjects were 15 college students (8 experimental students and 7 controlled students). In the experimental group, we conducted an assertive communication skill education invented by the author as well as outdoor activities. And we also conducted only education on assertion communication skill to the control group. We also conducted a survey before and after the activity and one month after the end. As a main result, it became clear that by incorporating assertive communication skill education into outdoor activities, students can have assertive attitudes and keep the sustainability of the effect for a long time
ヤガイ キョウイク ニオケル カツドウリョウ ト コミュニケーション ノ カンケイセイ ニ カンスル ココロミ
現代の子どもたちの特徴として,コミュニケーション能力の低下があげられる。野外教育がコミュニケーション能力改善策の一つとして挙げられ,様々な研究が行われている。本研究では,野外教育における活動量とコミュニケーションの関係を把握することを目的とした。授業として実施された野外活動に参加する大学生17名(男子9名,女子8名)を対象とし,活動量とコミュニケーションについて調査した。その結果,活動量とコミュニケーションの間には弱い関係性が見られ,特に男子では有意な相関が見られた。自主的な活動が中心となる野外教育において,活動量が参加者のコミュニケーションに関わる要因となることが示唆された。Recent children’s characteristics are declining communication skills. Outdoor activities are one of the measures to improve communication skills and various researches are being conducted. The purpose was to grasp the relationship between activity amount and communication in outdoor activities. 17 university students participating in outdoor activities for class were surveyed on the amount of activity and communication. As a result, a weak relationship was found between activity level and communication, significant correlation was seen especially in boys. In outdoor activities focused on self judgment, It was suggested that there is involvement in activities and communication

Invasive Bladder Cancer after Cyclophosphamide Administration for Nephrotic Syndrome : A Case Report
We report a case of invasive bladder cancer after cyclophosphamide administration for nephrotic syndrome, and briefly discuss the association of bladder cancer and cyclophosphamide.
A 6-year-old boy, who was diagnosed as having nephrotic syndrome, was treated with oral administration of prednisolone and cyclophosphamide for 4 years, receiving a total dose of 49.5 g cyclophosphamide. At age 27, a gross hematuria with bloody clots appeared and he presented with postrenal renal failure. He underwent a radical cystourethrectomy and ileal conduit for stage a pT3a pN0 M0 transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. He was not given any adjuvant treatments because of his renal insufficiency, and he died from the disease 14 months after radical surgery

Gene Therapy for Murine Renal Cell Carcinoma Using Genetically Engineered Tumor Cells to Secrete lnterleukin-12
To determine the possibility of gene therapy for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) using interleukin- 12 (IL-12), we prepared genetically engineered murine RCC cells (Renca) which secrete IL-12 and evaluated the usefulness of these cells as a tumor vaccine. The IL-12 gene was transduced using MFG retroviral vector. The in vitro characteristics of transfectants―i.e., cell proliferation and expression of surface antigens―were then examined. In vivo tumorigenicity was assessed by subcutaneously injecting each type of cell in syngenic BALB/c mice. For the challenge experiments, the mice rejecting previously injected Renca IL-12 cells were rechallenged with parental cells. To determine the antitumor effect at remote sites, mice were injected with parental cells into the left flank, and then either Renca IL-12 or parental cells were inoculated into the opposite site on day 0 or 1. The transfected cells can secrete 146.7ng/ml/10⁶cells/48 hr of IL-12, as confirmed here by bioassay. The in vitro characteristics of the transfectants were not altered, but in vivo tumorigenicity was significantly reduced. Of the 21 mice that rejected Renca IL-12 cells, 9 failed to develop tumors after the challenge with parental cells. In the mice treated with Renca IL-12 as a vaccine, both number and tumor volume of the mice that developed tumors at remote sites were reduced. IL-12 secreting Renca cells conferred both protective immunity to parental cells and delay of tumor growth at remote sites, indicating that IL-12 secreting Renca cells are a feasible candidate for use in gene therapy of RCC.This study was supported in part by Grants-in-Aid from the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of Japan (nos. 07671731, 08671816, and 10671475)
