The winter eggs of Daphnia pulex, after passing safely through the winter , develop and hatch in the spring, multiplying by themselves, while some males emerging among them with the changes in environment produce fertile eggs, which are universally known as winter eggs . This study researches the factors governing the development of winter eggs through experiments

The Librating Companions in HD 37124, HD 12661, HD 82943, 47 Uma and GJ 876: Alignment or Antialignment?

We investigated the apsidal motion for the multi-planet systems. In the simulations, we found that the two planets of HD 37124, HD 12661, 47 Uma and HD 82943 separately undergo apsidal alignment or antialignment. But the companions of GJ 876 and υ\upsilon And are only in apsidal lock about 0∘0^{\circ}. Moreover, we obtained the criteria with Laplace-Lagrange secular theory to discern whether a pair of planets for a certain system are in libration or circulation.Comment: 13 Pages, 3 figures, 2 tables, Published by ApJ Letters, 591, July 1, 2003 (Figures now included to match the publication

Industrial Applications of Laser Neutron Source

The industrial applications of the intense neutron source have been widely explored because of the unique features of the neutron-matter interaction. Usually, intense neutron sources are assembled with fission reactors or high energy ion accelerators. The big size and high cost of these systems are the bottle neck to promote the industrial applications of intense neutrons. In this paper, we propose the compact laser driven neutron source for the industrial application. As the first step of our project for the versatile applications of laser driven neutron source, Li-neutron and/or Li-proton interactions have been investigated for the application to the development of Li battery

Enhanced low-energy spin dynamics with diffusive character in the iron-based superconductor (La0.87Ca0.13)FePO: Analogy with high Tc cuprates (A short note)

In a recent NMR investigation of the iron-based superconductor (La0.87Ca0.13)FePO [Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 077006 (2008)] Y. Nakai et al. reported an anomalous behavior of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation of 31P nuclei in the superconducting state: The relaxation rate 1/T1 strongly depends on the measurement frequency and its T dependence does not show the typical decrease expected for the superconducting state. In this short note, we point out that these two observations bear similarity with the situation is some of the high Tc cuprates.Comment: To appear in J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. (Short Note
