The systematic study of the influence of neutron excess on the fusion cross sections using different proximity-type potentials
Using different types of proximity potentials, we have examined the trend of
variations of barrier characteristics (barrier height and its position) as well
as fusion cross sections for 50 isotopic systems including various collisions
of C, O, Mg, Si, S, Ca, Ar, Ti and Ni nuclei with condition
for compound systems. The results of our studies reveal that the relationships
between increase of barrier positions and decrease of barrier heights are both
linear with increase of ratio. Moreover, fusion cross sections also
enhance linearly with increase of this ratio.Comment: 28 pages, 7 figures, 5 Table
Effect of a thermal trap on the performance of a solar sand collector
The effects of different parameters--e.g. the thickness of the trap material, the flow rate of the water and the depth of the heat-retrieval plane--on the water temperature have been investigated. A comparison of the present system with a conventional solar sand collector was also made.
Cooling by evaporation of flowing water over a hollow roof
This paper discusses the thermal modelling of the technique for cooling buildings by means of open evaporation of water over the roof. A comparative study of cooling by means of (i) a roof pond, (ii) a water spray and (iii) moving water over the roof is presented. The influences of parameters such as wind speed, relative humidity and water flow velocity on the performance of the system are numerically examined.
