    Performance of a liquid-junction interface for capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry using continuous-flow fast-atom bombardment

    The on-line coupling of capillary electrophoresis and mass spectrometry using a continuous-flow fast-atom bombardment system in combination with a liquid-junction interface is described. The influence of the liquid-junction coupling on the efficiency and the resolution is investigated. Qualitative analysis of small peptides and quantitative analysis of dextromethorphan is demonstrated with detection limits in the low ng/mL range, indicating the feasibility of the method in bioanalysis.
