Multifrequency EPR and DENR of polyacetylene composite

The organo-inorganic composite MoCl1.9 ± 0.1(C 30 ± 1H30 ± 1), a product of interaction of MoCl5 with C2H2, has been studied by X- and W-band EPR, double electron nuclear resonance, and W-band electron spin echo spectroscopy. The composite consists of nanosized organometallic molybdenum clusters in the polyacetylene matrix. It has been shown that the composite contains three types of magnetic centers: the first is related to the existence of paramagnetic molybdenum atoms in the polyacetylene matrix, and the other two are paramagnetic defects of the matrix. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

Improved process conditions for the production of super-duty bronze wire

A set of measures has been introduced to improve the service properties of wire by simultaneously increasing its electrical conductivity and tensile strength. These measures narrow the range of variation of the contents of alloying elements in the alloy by a factor of several dozen (48-fold for Cr and Zr and 18-fold for Ca), which makes it possible to regard the alloy's composition as being near-optimum, i.e., to classify the material as belonging to the group of alloys that have undergone "substantiated alloying." This resolves the problem set forth for the investigation. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York
