LEGAL REFORMS: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE Review of the section of the Faculty of Law of the North-West Institute of Management of the RANEPA, held within the framework of the VI International Nevsky Forum (St. Petersburg, June 25, 2022)

The article is a review of the speeches of the participants of the section of the Faculty of Law of the Northwestern Institute of Management of the RANEPA, held within the framework of the VI International Nevsky Forum (St. Petersburg, June 25, 2022) “Legal reforms: past, present and future”, which discussed the problems of reforms in the field of law, as general problems of reforms in in the form of the need to define a clear goal and guidelines for reform, and in terms of reforms in certain legal areas (education, digitalization, legal history, constitutional law, civil law). In general, the participants agreed on the need to take into account the social, economic and political context when carrying out reforms and evaluating their results, clearly setting the goal of reforms, and the need to maintain, within the framework of current changes, adherence to unshakable ideas and principles of law, and constitutional law in particular

Justice as a Dominant of the Legal Order Overview of the Fourth Baskin Readings Conference (Saint Petersburg, November 2, 2022)

This article provides an overview of the Fourth Baskin Readings conference organized by the North-Western Institute of Management of the RANEPA. The conference was devoted to the problem of justice in law. The participants considered the problems of determining the content of the concept of  justice, its criteria, the problems of justice in various branches of law and science, and also suggested options for formulating such criteria in relation to different situations

Review of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Third Baskin Readings. Law and State of the Information Era: New Challenges and Prospects” (St. Petersburg, April 28, 2021)

In the review of the conference “The Third Baskin Readings. Law and State of the Information Era: New Challenges and Prospects” presents a summary of the main theses of the speakers on the problems of digitalization, the concept and protection of human rights and freedoms in a digital society, the role of artificial intelligence, transformation of law as such and other issues. The speakers generally concluded that there was no special change in the legal system for the needs of digitalization, concluded that law as a social phenomenon has a high degree of adaptability to changing conditions, and the use of new technologies should not affect the content of legal regulation as a whole. However, during the discussion, it is proposed to consider new signs of law, for example, “seriousness of law” in relation to the theory of the game. The participants come to the conclusion that the world is multipolar and at the same time there can be various structures of law and state, characteristic of different stages of socio-economic development of societies

Nevsky Forum: section "Crisis of confidence in the modern legal order" (St. Petersburg, June 2021)

On June 26, 2021, within the framework of the Nevsky Forum, at the Faculty of Law of the NWIM of RANEPA, the section "Crisis of confidence in the modern legal order: threats and ways to overcome" was organized. Russian and foreign scientists and practicing lawyers took part in the discussion, discussed such problems as the transformation of the principles of the rule of law in the age of postmodernity, political and legal threats to the stability of the rule of law, means of developing a dialogue between the state and the individual, tools of legal communication in the context of digitalization
