Production and detection of doubly charmed tetraquarks
The feasibility of tetraquark detection is studied. For the cc\bar{u}\bar{d}
tetraquark we show that in present (SELEX, Tevatron, RHIC) and future
facilities (LHCb, ALICE) the production rate is promising and we propose some
detectable decay channels.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Practical long-distance quantum key distribution system using decoy levels
Quantum key distribution (QKD) has the potential for widespread real-world
applications. To date no secure long-distance experiment has demonstrated the
truly practical operation needed to move QKD from the laboratory to the real
world due largely to limitations in synchronization and poor detector
performance. Here we report results obtained using a fully automated, robust
QKD system based on the Bennett Brassard 1984 protocol (BB84) with low-noise
superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs) and decoy levels.
Secret key is produced with unconditional security over a record 144.3 km of
optical fibre, an increase of more than a factor of five compared to the
previous record for unconditionally secure key generation in a practical QKD
system.Comment: 9 page
Two inequivalent sublattices and orbital ordering in MnV2O4 studied by 51V NMR
We report detailed 51V NMR spectra in a single crystal of MnV2O4. The
vanadium spectrum reveals two peaks in the orbitally ordered state, which arise
from different internal hyperfine fields at two different V sublattices. These
internal fields evolve smoothly with externally applied field, and show no
change in structure that would suggest a change of the orbital ordering. The
result is consistent with the orbital ordering model recently proposed by
Sarkar et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 216405 (2009)] in which the same orbital
that is a mixture of t_2g orbitals rotates by about 45 alternately
within and between orbital chains in the I4_1/a tetragonal space group.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, title changed, published in PRB as a rapid com
Complex Landau Ginzburg Theory of the Hidden Order in URu_2Si_2
We develop a Landau Ginzburg theory of the hidden order phase and the local
moment antiferromagnetic phase of URu_2Si_2. We unify the two broken symmetries
in a common complex order parameter and derive many experimentally relevant
consequences such as the topology of the phase diagram in magnetic field and
pressure. The theory accounts for the appearance of a moment under application
of stress and the thermal expansion anomaly across the phase transitions. It
identifies the low energy mode which is seen in the hidden order phase near the
conmensurate wavector (0,0, 1) as the pseudo-Goldstone mode of the approximate
U(1) symmetry.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Single-crystalline CdTe nanowire field effect transistors as nanowire-based photodetector
The electronic and photoconductive characteristics of CdTe nanowire-based field effect transistors were studied systematically. The electrical characterization of a single CdTe nanowire FET verifies p-type behavior. The CdTe NW FETs respond to visible-near infrared (400-800 nm) incident light with a fast, reversible and stable response characterized by a high responsivity (81 A W-1), photoconductive gain (similar to 2.5 x 10(4)%) and reasonable response and decay times (0.7 s and 1 s, respectively). These results substantiate the potential of CdTe nanowire-based photodetectors in optoelectronic applications.open112423sciescopu
Two-loop Barr-Zee type Contributions to in the MSSM
We consider the contribution of a two-loop Barr-Zee type diagram to
in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). At relatively
large , we show that the contribution of light third generation
scalar fermions and neutral CP-even Higgs, , can easily explain the
very recent BNL experimental data. In our analysis prefers negative
and positive . It is more sensitive to the chirality flipping
h^0(H^0)\wt{f}_R^*\wt{f}_L rather than chirality conserving couplings.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, references adde
Towards the theory of ferrimagnetism
Two-sublattice ferrimagnet, with spin- operators at the
sublattice site and spin- operators at the sublattice
site, is considered. The magnon of the system, the transversal fluctuation
of the total magnetization, is a complicate mixture of the transversal
fluctuations of the sublattice and spins. As a result, the magnons'
fluctuations suppress in a different way the magnetic orders of the and
sublattices and one obtains two phases. At low temperature the
magnetic orders of the and spins contribute to the magnetization of the
system, while at the high temperature , the magnetic order of the
spins with a weaker intra-sublattice exchange is suppressed by magnon
fluctuations, and only the spins with stronger intra-sublattice exchange has
non-zero spontaneous magnetization. The transition is a transition
between two spin-ordered phases in contrast to the transition from spin-ordered
state to disordered state (-transition). There is no additional symmetry
breaking, and the Goldstone boson has a ferromagnetic dispersion in both
phases. A modified spin-wave theory is developed to describe the two phases.
All known Neel's anomalous curves are reproduced, in particular that
with "compensation point". The theoretical curves are compared with
experimental ones for sulpho-spinel and rare earth iron
garnets.Comment: 9 pages, 8 figure
AC susceptibility and V NMR study of MnVO
We report V zero-field NMR of manganese vanadate spinel of
MnVO, together with both ac and dc magnetization measurements. The
field and temperature dependence of ac susceptibilities show a
reentrant-spin-glass-like behavior below the ferrimagnetic(FEM) ordering
temperature. The zero-field NMR spectrum consists of multiple lines ranging
from 240 MHz to 320 MHz. Its temperature dependence reveals that the ground
state is given by the simultaneous formation of a long-range FEM order and a
short-range order component. We attribute the spin-glass-like anomalies to
freezing and fluctuations of the short-range ordered state caused by the
competition between spin and orbital ordering of the V site
