Effect of Electrolyte Balance in Low-Protein Diets on Broiler Performance and Tibial Dyschondroplasia Incidence
A proper dietary electrolyte balance (DEB) is essential to ensure an optimum acid-base equilibrium and broiler performance. In low-CP diets, this balance can be affected by reduction of soybean meal and inclusion of high levels of synthetic amino acids. Although, some studies have related low-protein diets supplemented with amino acids and DEB, these relations are not well explained, because some research demonstrates confusion about the deficiency and balance of nutrients. The objective of these experiments was to evaluate the DEB effects of diets with low levels of protein supplemented with amino acids on broiler performance and bone development. Results indicated that DEB and CP content influenced broiler chick performance in the starter and growing periods. There was no significant effect due to the interaction between DEB and CP content for tibial dyschondroplasia incidence (TD) or in bone breaking resistance during the growing period of either experiment. The incidence of TD was reduced with 253 mEq/kg DEB in the starter period
Noncommutative geometry, topology and the standard model vacuum
As a ramification of a motivational discussion for previous joint work, in
which equations of motion for the finite spectral action of the Standard Model
were derived, we provide a new analysis of the results of the calculations
herein, switching from the perspective of Spectral triple to that of Fredholm
module and thus from the analogy with Riemannian geometry to the pre-metrical
structure of the Noncommutative geometry. Using a suggested Noncommutative
version of Morse theory together with algebraic -theory to analyse the
vacuum solutions, the first two summands of the algebra for the finite triple
of the Standard Model arise up to Morita equivalence. We also demonstrate a new
vacuum solution whose features are compatible with the physical mass matrix.Comment: 24 page
Probing dark energy beyond with CODEX
Precision measurements of nature's fundamental couplings and a first
measurement of the cosmological redshift drift are two of the key targets for
future high-resolution ultra-stable spectrographs such as CODEX. Being able to
do both gives CODEX a unique advantage, allowing it to probe dynamical dark
energy models (by measuring the behavior of their equation of state) deep in
the matter era and thereby testing classes of models that would otherwise be
difficult to distinguish from the standard CDM paradigm. We illustrate

Unified model for vortex-string network evolution
We describe and numerically test the velocity-dependent one-scale (VOS)
string evolution model, a simple analytic approach describing a string network
with the averaged correlation length and velocity. We show that it accurately
reproduces the large-scale behaviour (in particular the scaling laws) of
numerical simulations of both Goto-Nambu and field theory string networks. We
explicitly demonstrate the relation between the high-energy physics approach
and the damped and non-relativistic limits which are relevant for condensed
matter physics. We also reproduce experimental results in this context and show
that the vortex-string density is significantly reduced by loop production, an

Kondo regime in triangular arrangements of quantum dots: Molecular orbitals, interference and contact effects
Transport properties of an interacting triple quantum dot system coupled to
three leads in a triangular geometry has been studied in the Kondo regime.
Applying mean-field finite-U slave boson and embedded cluster approximations to
the calculation of transport properties unveils a set of rich features
associated to the high symmetry of this system. Results using both calculation
techniques yield excellent overall agreement and provide additional insights
into the physical behavior of this interesting geometry. In the case when just
two current leads are connected to the three-dot system, interference effects
between degenerate molecular orbitals are found to strongly affect the overall
conductance. An S=1 Kondo effect is also shown to appear for the perfect
equilateral triangle symmetry. The introduction of a third current lead results
in an `amplitude leakage' phenomenon, akin to that appearing in beam splitters,
which alters the interference effects and the overall conductance through the

Prefiguring Houses in a Traditional City: A Case for Benin House Types and Characteristics

The interpretation of house as shelter makes it a basic necessities of life. Thus the focus of the paper is to identify and document house types in Benin by observing the physical characteristics and type’s classification from the organization and pattern of architectural plan documented. The study explored qualitative and quantitative approach using observations, descriptive frequency, architectural sketches, photographs and interview guide. The findings revealed a cross sectional characterising and classifying houses in Benin City, Nigeria which reflect the typical cross section structure of a traditional city. Architects’ View on Design Consideration that Can Reduce Maintenance Cost
Buildings are designed with the intent of lasting for a certain period of time. Building maintenance in
different building typology is described as multi-faceted activities which involve planning, directing,
controlling and organizing resources for the sustenance of the building’s physical, functional and
operational performance. The research focused on ways cost of maintaining a building was done,
effectively or efficiently with the influence of the design approach used. Literatures of works pertaining to
building maintenance were reviewed to identify the various impacts, influences that a building design
would have on the cost of maintaining any building type. Maintenance departments of educational
institutions were surveyed and data analyzed. The study revealed that maintenance culture of buildings
could either be positive or negative, based on the quality of design approach used. The study
recommends a proper review of building codes and regulations by organizations intending to erect
building structures with a view of designers to specified standards and prevent excess maintenance cost
in the future
