The article describes the complexity of modern theoretical and practical approaches to the understanding of mental health and disease. METHODOLOGY FOR STUDYING THE BIOMEDICAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MENTALLY ILL RURAL AND URBAN AREAS (FOR EXAMPLE, PATIENTS WITH NEUROTIC AND SOMATOFORM DISORDERS)
