Thermal stability and optoelectronic behavior of polyaniline/GNP (graphene nanoplatelets) nanocomposites

Polyaniline and graphene nanoplatelets (PANI-GNP) nanocomposites are synthesized by in situ oxidative polymerization of polyaniline using an oxidizing agent, ammonium peroxy disulphate (APS). The mass of GNP in the nanocomposites varied by 5, 10, and 15 wt% compared to PANI. The synthesized polyaniline coated graphene nanoplatelets (PANI-GNP) nanocomposites are chemically characterized and using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). FTIR and Raman spectroscopy analysis confirmed the uniform coating of polyaniline on GNP. The SEM micrograph and XRD pattern demonstrate the polymerization quality and crystallization degree of samples. UV-Vis analysis showed a decrease in the bandgap of polyaniline, which confirms that nanocomposites are more suitable for optoelectronic application because of variation in the bandgap. TGA analysis showed the thermal stability of PANI is increased with the increased mass of GNP. This study suggests the potential of GNP as a filler for efficient modification in the morphological, electrical, optical, and thermal properties of PANI.Comment: 13 pages, with 8 figures and one tabl

Dynamics of the termination of global alliances: probing the past, analyzing the present and defining the frontiers for future research

    No full text
Purpose: While the number of global alliance terminations in the business world has grown steadily during the past few decades, the scholarly literature on strategic alliance (SA) termination remains limited. This research paper aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of the literature on alliance termination and propose a model for future research agenda that links the termination phase to the pre-alliance termination phase and post alliance termination phase. Design/methodology/approach: A search query on global alliance termination identified a total of 69 research papers from the Scopus database, and a bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R-package and VOSviewer. The analysis further used the TCCM framework to review the set of papers. Findings: This research analysis reveals that, compared to the pre-formation, formation, and process stages of alliances, limited research has been undertaken on global alliance termination. The bibliometric analysis and TCCM framework provide a complete view of the extant literature on global alliance termination from different dimensions and act as the which as the foundation for a developing the research agenda that links pre-alliance termination phase and post-alliance termination phase to that of alliance termination phase. Research limitations/implications: The proposed research agenda is unique as it integrates multiple phases in the alliance lifecycle with global alliance termination phase and develops a distinct view for future research that emphasizes on the post-alliance termination phase. Practical implications: The bibliometric analysis provides a precise snapshot of the state of the literature on global alliance termination. The research agenda developed provides a direction for further academic research that links alliance termination not only to pre-alliance termination phase but also to the post-alliance termination phase that is nascently explored in the literature. Originality/value: This study is among the few to review and synthesize the literature on global alliance termination. It, therefore, functions as a catalyst to draw global scholars' attention. Further, it provides global researchers with direction by proposing a global research agenda. © 2021, Emerald Publishing Limited

    Delhivery: Fulfilling E-commerce Delivery

Delhivery started in 2011 and was a key player in the Indian e-commerce logistics industry. It was ranked number one in terms of the number of shipments handled. The brainchild of Sahil Barua and Suraj Saharan, Delhivery began as a last-mile delivery partner of restaurants in Gurugram and, over the years, grew along with the e-commerce boom in India. The case provides a detailed note of Delhivery’s evolution from 2011 to 2019, especially focusing on the multifaceted development of Delhivery not limited to e-commerce delivery but also its initiative in building an ecosystem for e-commerce firms to operate in India. The competition was intensifying in the e-commerce logistics industry, and Delhivery was contemplating how it should sustain its competitive advantage, contain its losses and break-even at the earliest. © 2022 Lahore University of Management Sciences

Role of management practices and their effects on firm performance: Emerging market context

    No full text
Unconventional factors are usually ignored in their influence on the firm's performance. The study develops a fundamental model to evaluate the role of management on firm's performance by assessing strategic flexibility, knowledge management, corporate governance, firm's resilience, and adoption of information, communication, and technology on firm's performance. The results suggest that the adoption of information, communication, and technology followed by corporate governance significantly influences a firm's performance. It also indicates that the quality of products and workplace training significantly enhance the firm's performance. This study suggests that academicians should look beyond the usual factors that influence firm performance in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons Ltd

Bandwagon effect revisited: A systematic review to develop future research agenda

    No full text
In business and management research, studies on the bandwagon effect are growing while remaining dispersed and multi-faceted. Against this backdrop, researchers in the field of business and management face challenges in contributing to and further advancing the state-of-the-art in a direction that is helpful to academicians and practitioners. The primary intent of this study is to epistemologically review the state of literature on bandwagon effect using a systematic literature review. The study further seeks to develop a future research agenda by analyzing the theoretical evolution, the methodological patterns, and the interrelationships of constructs within different contexts in the extant literature. Publication trends, the dissemination of articles in journals, theoretical background, methodological patterns, examination of constructs, and contexts employed in the study of the bandwagon effect from 1970 to 2021 have been meticulously identified and analyzed. Researchers, management thinkers, and practitioners of consumer psychology and behavioral research can benefit from the specific evidence on the bandwagon effect

Exploring the role of knowledge management in contexts of crisis: a synthesis and way forward

    No full text
Purpose: Based on the scarcity and the fragmented nature of the literature in the field of knowledge management (KM) and crisis, this paper aims to present a systematic literature review of these two constructs, interlinking the literature in KM to the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery (PPRR) phases framework. The output is a critical discussion on the state of the literature in the field, and an overview of avenues for future research. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology adopted in this paper is that of a systematic literature review. Using the Scopus database, this study presents the findings that emerged from 59 publications in the field of KM and crisis. Findings: Through the application of a systematic literature review, this paper categorizes 59 publications on KM according to the different stages comprising a crisis. The implications of each paper are discussed and critically analyzed, acting as the basis of areas for future research. Originality/value: This paper is the first to offer a systematic review of the literature on KM in contexts of crisis by integrating the literature into a well-defined PPRR framework. Furthermore, the discussions presented in this review may be used by practitioners as a basis/starting point to identify relevant literature on different phases of crisis, while scholars may use this paper to further develop studies in KM and crisis management. © 2022, Emerald Publishing Limited
