Formation of linguocultural representations in younger schoolboys in Russian language lessons
In connection with the establishment of a student-centered approach in education, the development of moral qualities and qualities from younger schoolchildren became very necessary. One of these qualities, in accordance with the second generation FGU NOU, is respect for the multicultural culture of their country. The program of learning Russian should be aimed at understanding the language as a phenomenon of national culture, its most important custodian. In this case, we are talking about the formation of linguistic and cultural representations of younger students. This problem has worried many domestic researchers over the past decades. The article presents a detailed analysis of textbooks on the Russian language in the aspect of developing students' ideas about the close relationship of language and culture
Enhanced photoluminescence extraction efficiency from a diamond photonic crystal via leaky modes
Two-dimensional photonic crystal can be exploited as the top part of a light source in order to increase its extraction efficiency. Here, we report on the room-temperature intrinsic photoluminescence (PL) behavior of a nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) layer with diamond columns prepared on the top and periodically ordered into the lattice with square symmetry. Angle-resolved far-field measurements in the Gamma-X crystal direction of broadband visible PL revealed up to six-fold enhancement of extraction efficiency as compared to a smooth NCD layer. A photonic band diagram above the lightcone derived from these measurements is in agreement with the diagram obtained from transmission measurements and simulation, suggesting that the enhancement is primarily due to light's coupling to leaky modes
Динамика выживаемости больных муковисцидозом в Москве и Московской области за периоды 1992–2001 и 2002–2011 гг.
Summary. The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in survival of patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) in Moscow and Moscow region and to determine factors influencing the survival. We analyzed outpatient medical records of patients followed-up in Moscow CF centers by the 1st of January, 2002, and by the 1st of January, 2012.Median survival for 2002–2012 was 37.2 years; this was significantly higher that the similar value for the previous decade (25.9 years). A total number of CF patients was more than doubled due to increased survival and improved diagnosis of the disease.Improved survival was due to improved work of CF centers and to implementation of effective medications, primarily dornase alfa (Pulmozyme) and some inhaled and systemic antibiotics and macrolides in subinhibitory concentrations, in routine clinical practice. Gram-negative infection, especially Burkholderia cepacia, was shown to decrease survival in CF patients in contrary to "mild" mutations that are better prognostic factors.
Effect of Protein–protein Interactions on Translational Diffusion of Spheroidal Proteins
One of the commonly accepted approaches to estimate protein–protein interactions (PPI) in aqueous solutions is the analysis of their translational diffusion. The present review article observes a phenomenological approach to analyze PPI effects via concentration dependencies of self- and collective translational diffusion coefficient for several spheroidal proteins derived from the pulsed field gradient NMR (PFG NMR) and dynamic light scattering (DLS), respectively. These proteins are rigid globular α-chymotrypsin (ChTr) and human serum albumin (HSA), and partly disordered α-casein (α-CN) and β-lactoglobulin (β-Lg). The PPI analysis enabled us to reveal the dominance of intermolecular repulsion at low ionic strength of solution (0.003–0.01 M) for all studied proteins. The increase in the ionic strength to 0.1–1.0 M leads to the screening of protein charges, resulting in the decrease of the protein electrostatic potential. The increase of the van der Waals potential for ChTr and α-CN characterizes their propensity towards unstable weak attractive interactions. The decrease of van der Waals interactions for β-Lg is probably associated with the formation of stable oligomers by this protein. The PPI, estimated with the help of interaction potential and idealized spherical molecular geometry, are in good agreement with experimental data
NATURAL ANTIOXIDANTS IN PRODUCTION “BRUSHWOOD”
Flour wares use popularity, there is 48% of general volume of pastry wares on their stake. A marketing study on results that actuality of development of new type of flour good is set with the lowered maintenance of fat and enriched by vitamins is undertaken. The use of natural antioxidant of "Guarding is reasonable toco 70" and introduction of 0,2% is recommended for stabilizing of sunflower-seed oil at fry of frying. Joint introduction of powders is studied from the garden-stuffs of brier and unabi on quality of the brushwood fried in sunflower-seed oil with the use of "Guarding toco 70". From wares extracted lipids and estimated on indexes: peroxides, acid and anizid numbers. It is set that an antioxidant and vegetable powders assist the decline of indexes of safety peroxides and asid in two times, and anizid in 1,3 time. Use of antioxidant of "Guarding toco 70", being in 70% from the natural concentrate of mixture of tocopherolss and 30% of soyaoil
κ-Carrageenan Hydrogel as a Matrix for Therapeutic Enzyme Immobilization
During the last few decades, polysaccharide hydrogels attract more and more attention as therapeutic protein delivery systems due to their biocompatibility and the simplicity of the biodegradation of natural polymers. The protein retention by and release from the polysaccharide gel network is regulated by geometry and physical interactions of protein with the matrix. In the present work, we studied the molecular details of interactions between κ-carrageenan and three lipases, namely the lipases from Candida rugosa, Mucor javanicus, and Rhizomucor miehei—which differ in their size and net charge—upon protein immobilization in microparticles of polysaccharide gel. The kinetics of protein release revealed the different capability of κ-carrageenan to retain lipases, which are generally negatively charged; that was shown to be in line with the energy of interactions between polysaccharides and positively charged epitopes on the protein surface. These data create a platform for the novel design of nanocarriers for biomedical probes of enzymatic origin
One-Step Melt Synthesis of Water-Soluble, Photoluminescent, Surface-Oxidized Silicon Nanoparticles for Cellular Imaging Applications
We have developed a versatile, one-step melt synthesis of water-soluble, highly emissive silicon nanoparticles using bi-functional, low-melting solids (such as glutaric acid) as reaction media. Characterization through transmission electron microscopy, selected area electron diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy shows that the one-step melt synthesis produces nanoscale Si cores surrounded by a silicon oxide shell. Analysis of the nanoparticle surface using FT-IR, zeta potential, and gel electrophoresis indicates that the bi-functional ligand used in the one-step synthesis is grafted onto the nanoparticle, which allows for tuning of the particle surface charge, solubility, and functionality. Photoluminescence spectra of the as-prepared glutaric acid-synthesized silicon nanoparticles show an intense blue-green emission with a short (ns) lifetime suitable for biological imaging. These nanoparticles are found to be stable in biological media and have been used to examine cellular uptake and distribution in live N2a cells
