Higher Loop Spin Field Correlators in D=4 Superstring Theory
We develop calculational tools to determine higher loop superstring
correlators involving massless fermionic and spin fields in four space time
dimensions. These correlation functions are basic ingredients for the
calculation of loop amplitudes involving both bosons and fermions in D=4
heterotic and superstring theories. To obtain the full amplitudes in Lorentz
covariant form the loop correlators of fermionic and spin fields have to be
expressed in terms of SO(1,3) tensors. This is one of the main achievements in

Delivering reform in English healthcare: an ideational perspective
A variety of perspectives has been put forward to understand reform across healthcare systems. Recently, some have called for these perspectives to give greater recognition to the role of ideational processes. The purpose of this article is to present an ideational approach to understanding the delivery of healthcare reform. It draws on a case of English healthcare reform â the Next Stage Review led by Lord Darzi â to show how the delivery of its reform proposals was associated with four ideational frames. These frames built on the idea of âprogressâ in responding to existing problems; the idea of âprevailing policyâ in forming part of a bricolage of ideas within institutional contexts; the idea of âprescriptionâ as top-down structural change at odds with local contexts; and the idea of âprofessional disputesâ in challenging the notion of clinical engagement across professional groups. The article discusses the implications of these ideas in furthering our understanding of policy change, conflict and continuity across healthcare settings
Conservation laws and tachyon potentials in the sliver frame
Conservation laws have provided an elegant and efficient tool to evaluate the
open string field theory interaction vertex, they have been originally
implemented in the case where the string field is expanded in the Virasoro
basis. In this work we derive conservation laws in the case where the string
field is expanded in the so-called sliver -basis. As an
application of these conservation laws derived in the sliver frame, we compute
the open string field action relevant to the tachyon condensation and in order
to present not only an illustration but also an additional information, we

On the Trace Anomaly and the Anomaly Puzzle in N=1 Pure Yang-Mills
The trace anomaly of the energy-momentum tensor is usually quoted in the form
which is proportional to the beta function of the theory. However, there are in
general many definitions of gauge couplings depending on renormalization
schemes, and hence many beta functions. In particular, N=1 supersymmetric pure
Yang-Mills has the holomorphic gauge coupling whose beta function is one-loop
exact, and the canonical gauge coupling whose beta function is given by the
Novikov-Shifman-Vainshtein-Zakharov beta function. In this paper, we study
which beta function should appear in the trace anomaly in N=1 pure Yang-Mills.
We calculate the trace anomaly by employing the N=4 regularization of N=1 pure
Yang-Mills. It is shown that the trace anomaly is given by one-loop exact form
if the composite operator appearing in the trace anomaly is renormalized in a
preferred way. This result gives the simplest resolution to the anomaly puzzle
in N=1 pure Yang-Mills. The most important point is to examine in which scheme
the quantum action principle is valid, which is crucial in the derivation of

A phase II study of temozolomide vs. procarbazine in patients with glioblastoma multiforme at first relapse.
A randomized, multicentre, open-label, phase II study compared temozolomide (TMZ), an oral second-generation alkylating agent, and procarbazine (PCB) in 225 patients with glioblastoma multiforme at first relapse. Primary objectives were to determine progression-free survival (PFS) at 6 months and safety for TMZ and PCB in adult patients who failed conventional treatment. Secondary objectives were to assess overall survival and health-related quality of life (HRQL). TMZ was given orally at 200 mg/m(2)/day or 150 mg/m(2)/day (prior chemotherapy) for 5 days, repeated every 28 days. PCB was given orally at 150 mg/m(2)/day or 125 mg/m(2)/day (prior chemotherapy) for 28 days, repeated every 56 days. HRQL was assessed using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30 [+3]) and the Brain Cancer Module 20 (BCM20). The 6-month PFS rate for patients who received TMZ was 21%, which met the protocol objective. The 6-month PFS rate for those who received PCB was 8% (P = 0.008, for the comparison). Overall PFS significantly improved with TMZ, with a median PFS of 12.4 weeks in the TMZ group and 8.32 weeks in the PCB group (P = 0.0063). The 6-month overall survival rate for TMZ patients was 60% vs. 44% for PCB patients (P = 0.019). Freedom from disease progression was associated with maintenance of HRQL, regardless of treatment received. TMZ had an acceptable safety profile; most adverse events were mild or moderate in severity
Scattering and duality in the 2 dimensional OSP(2|2) Gross Neveu and sigma models
We write the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz for the massive OSp(2|2) Gross Neveu
and sigma models. We find evidence that the GN S matrix proposed by Bassi and
Leclair [12] is the correct one. We determine features of the sigma model S
matrix, which seem highly unconventional; we conjecture in particular a
relation between this sigma model and the complex sine-Gordon model at a
particular value of the coupling. We uncover an intriguing duality between the
OSp(2|2) GN (resp. sigma) model on the one hand, and the SO(4) sigma (resp. GN
model) on the other, somewhat generalizing to the massive case recent results
on OSp(4|2). Finally, we write the TBA for the (SUSY version of the) flow into
the random bond Ising model proposed by Cabra et al. [39], and conclude that

On the classical equivalence of monodromy matrices in squashed sigma model
We proceed to study the hybrid integrable structure in two-dimensional
non-linear sigma models with target space three-dimensional squashed spheres. A
quantum affine algebra and a pair of Yangian algebras are realized in the sigma
models and, according to them, there are two descriptions to describe the
classical dynamics 1) the trigonometric description and 2) the rational
description, respectively. For every description, a Lax pair is constructed and
the associated monodromy matrix is also constructed. In this paper we show the
gauge-equivalence of the monodromy matrices in the trigonometric and rational
description under a certain relation between spectral parameters and the

Random volumes from matrices
We propose a class of models which generate three-dimensional random volumes,
where each configuration consists of triangles glued together along multiple
hinges. The models have matrices as the dynamical variables and are
characterized by semisimple associative algebras A. Although most of the
diagrams represent configurations which are not manifolds, we show that the set
of possible diagrams can be drastically reduced such that only (and all of the)
three-dimensional manifolds with tetrahedral decompositions appear, by
introducing a color structure and taking an appropriate large N limit. We
examine the analytic properties when A is a matrix ring or a group ring, and
show that the models with matrix ring have a novel strong-weak duality which
interchanges the roles of triangles and hinges. We also give a brief comment on

A fourth generation, anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry and the LHC
A fourth chiral generation, with in the range GeV and a moderate value of the CP-violating phase can explain the
anomalous like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry observed recently by the D0
collaboration. The required parameters are found to be consistent with
constraints from other and decays. The presence of such quarks, apart
from being detectable in the early stages of the LHC, would also have important
