    A proposal of sensitive indicators of the rehabilitation nursing care of people in the surgical process, to be included in the ontology of aging

    Given the complex surgical scenario observed today, it is necessary to change the urgent definition of a specific ontology, especially in terms of aging. The interventions of the Specialist Nurse in Rehabilitation Nursing to the person in the surgical process are primordial for the maintenance of the functional capacities, prevention of complications and impediment of incapacities. However, it is necessary to provide individualized and fostered care in a practice of excellence, and the consequent organized reading of records of an aging ontology for decision making on rehabilitation indicators. Method: a systematic review of the literature was carried out using the EBSCO host (MEDLINE with Full Text, CINAHL Plus with Full Text and MedicLatina), using the PI [C] O method, and 11 articles were selected. Results: 41 indicators were identified to be included in the ontology classes of aging: pain control, patient and family education, support and communication, reduction of postoperative complications, gain of functionality, restoration of physical function, mobility, multidisciplinary intervention and the frequency of interventions. Conclusion: it is considered that it was imperative to identify sensitive indicators for rehabilitation nursing care, based on scientific evidence and thus provide an opportunity for nurses to reflect on their daily practices and conduct their actions towards excellence in care, to propose a set of 41 classes internationally on the ontology of aging

    Survey for Emission-Line Galaxies: Universidad Complutense de Madrid List 3

    A new low-dispersion objective-prism search for low-redshift (z<0.045) emission-line galaxies (ELG) has been carried out by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the Schmidt Telescope at the Calar-Alto Observatory. This is a continuation of the UCM Survey, which was performed by visual selection of candidates in photographic plates via the presence of the Halpha+[NII]6584 blend in emission. In this new list we have applied an automatic procedure, fully developed by us, for selecting and analyzing the ELG candidates on the digitized images obtained with the MAMA machine. The analyzed region of the sky covers 189 square degrees in nine fields near R.A.=14h & 17h, Dec=25 deg. The final sample contains 113 candidates. Special effort has been made to obtain a large amount of information directly from our uncalibrated plates by using several external calibrations. The parameters obtained for the ELG candidates allow for the study of the statistical properties for the sample.Comment: 13 pages, 18 PostScript figures, 6 JPEG figures, Table 2 corrected.     Spectral Flow of Vortex Shape Modes over the BPS 2-Vortex Moduli Space

    The flow of shape eigenmodes of the small fluctuation operator around BPS 2-vortex solutions is calculated, as a function of the intervortex separation 2d2d. For the rotationally-invariant 2-vortex, with d=0d = 0, there are three discrete modes; the lowest is non-degenerate and the upper two are degenerate. As dd increases, the degeneracy splits, with one eigenvalue increasing and entering the continuous spectrum, and the other decreasing and asymptotically coalescing with the lowest eigenvalue, where they jointly become the eigenvalue of the 1-vortex radial shape mode. The behaviour of the eigenvalues near d=0d=0 is clarified using a perturbative analysis, and also in light of the 2-vortex moduli space geometry.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figure

    Effects of mergers and galaxy interactions at intermediate densities in the SDSS-DR4

    Recently, several observational works have provided evidence in favor of a pre-processing of galaxies at moderate environments. These evidences show that the transition of galaxies onto the red-sequence could take place in galaxy groups in the outskirt of clusters or in the infalling populations. Based on the evidence that interacting and merging systems are priviledged found at intermediate densities, we use the SDSSDR4 data to analyse the role of mergers and close galaxy interactions as environmental processes to lead to evolutionary transformations. We explore the properties of galaxy pairs and merging systems at different local and global density environments, comparing them with those of isolated galaxies in an unbiased control sample.Recientemente varios autores han aportado evidencia observacional que sugerir´ıa que las galaxias son pre-procesadas en regiones de densidad intermedia, produciendo una gran transformacion en las mismas. Estos resultados observacionales muestran que la transicion de las galaxias hacia la secuencia roja se producir´ıa en regiones perifericas de los cumulos de galaxias. Por otra parte, existe evidencia tanto teorica como observacional que indicar´ıa que las interacciones y fusiones de galaxias son particularmente frecuentes en estas regiones.     On the semiclassical mass of S2{\mathbb S}^2-kinks

    One-loop mass shifts to the classical masses of stable kinks arising in a massive non-linear S2{\mathbb S}^2-sigma model are computed. Ultraviolet divergences are controlled using the heat kernel/zeta function regularization method.     Improving the activity in hydrodechlorination of Pd/C catalysts by nitrogen doping of activated carbon supports

    Aqueous phase 4-chlorophenol hydrodechlorination reaction was used to study the effect of N-doping of activated carbon support on the catalytic activity of Pd catalysts. Activated carbon was doped using pyridine and 1,10-phenantroline, reaching nitrogen contents of 0.42-1.22 and 1.35-4.19 % (w), respectively. All catalysts (0.75 % Pd w, carbon basis) showed relatively large Pd nanoparticles (35-55nm), but they exhibited fast and complete 4-chlorophenol disappearance in batch experiments. In runs at 30°C 4-chlorophenol disappearance was mainly ascribed to hydrodechlorination, although N-doping of the support also increased adsorption. Catalysts with supports doped with pyridine yielded higher 4-chlorophenol disappearance rate in spite of lower bulk nitrogen content, however they showed higher concentration of nitrogen species at the external surface and lower loss of surface area during the doping. 4-chlorophenol disappearance rate was boosted at 60°C, with minor differences between catalysts with undoped and N-doped supports, but generation of cyclohexanone was only observed for the ones with doped support. Phenol generation simultaneous to 4-chlorophenol disappearance was observed with all the catalysts.     Assessment of metals bound to marine plankton proteins and to dissolved proteins in seawater

    Studies based on laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA–ICP-MS) have been performed to assess metal bound to dissolved proteins and proteins from marine plankton after two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D PAGE). Dissolved proteins were pre-concentrated from surface seawater (60 L) by tangential ultrafiltration with 10 kDa molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) membranes and further centrifugal ultrafiltration (10 kDa) before proteins isolation by methanol/chloroform/water precipitation. Proteins isolation from plankton was assessed after different trichloroacetic acid (TCA)/acetone and methanol washing stages, and further proteins extraction with a phenol solution. LA–ICP-MS analysis of the electrophoretic profiles obtained for dissolved proteins shows the presence of Cd, Cr, Cu, and Zn in five spots analyzed. These proteins exhibit quite similar molecular weights (within the 10–14 kDa range) and pIs (from 5.8 to 7.3). Cd, Cr, Cu, and Zn have also been found to be associated to proteins isolated from plankton samples. In this case, Cd has been found to be bound to proteins of quite different molecular weight (9, 13 and 22 kDa) and pIs (4.5, 5.2, 5.5, and 10).     Quimioembolización en el hepatocarcinoma. Análisis de supervivencia en 37 pacientes en el HCU Lozano Blesa

    Objetivo: Valorar la supervivencia de los pacientes con hepatocarcinoma (HCC) tratado mediante 1, 2 o más de 2 sesiones de quimioembolización transarterial (transarterial chemoembolization, TACE) en el Hospital Clínico Universitario (HCU) Lozano Blesa (febrero 2010 - mayo 2015). Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica del HCC y de la TACE, así como revisión de la base de datos del HCU de 38 pacientes con HCC tratados con TACE, valorando la supervivencia en función del número de sesiones realizadas y la respuesta al tratamiento mediante pruebas de imagen. Resultados: El número mínimo de sesiones de TACE fue 1 y un 50 % de los pacientes habían recibido terapia complementaria a la TACE. Tras la segunda TACE, se valoró la respuesta al tratamiento mediante los criterios mRECIST (modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors), contando con un total de 33 pacientes, obteniéndose en un 45 % una respuesta completa. En aquellos pacientes que recibieron más de 2 TACEs (27), se produjo respuesta completa en el 41 %. La supervivencia fue mayor en aquellos pacientes que recibieron 2 o más de 2 TACEs respecto a los que recibieron 1 sola sesión. Se apreciaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la supervivencia de los pacientes que se sometieron a TACE como tratamiento único o TACE más TOH (Trasplante Ortotópico Hepático); sin embargo no se detectaron diferencias significativas en los pacientes que recibieron TACE junto con tratamiento ablativo respecto a los que recibieron TACE. Conclusiones: La TACE mejora la supervivencia de los pacientes en estadio B de la BCLC (Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer) o estadio A no candidatos a cirugía ni ablación y ayuda a evitar la progresión de la enfermedad en aquellos que se encuentran en lista de espera para TOH
