Business Internationalization Through the Gender Glasses

This paper aims to offer a diagnosis of exporting companies with an interest in the international market from a gender perspective. To this end, we show descriptive evidence using data from Spain gathered by ICEX. The application of advanced data analysis techniques allows us to explore the characteristics of companies with an interest in internationalization from a gender perspective, whether there are differences both in the use of ICEX support services and in the target markets for this support in the case of woman-led or female-owned companies, and whether there are differences in export pathways from the year 2000 onwards

Mujer y economía: igualdad, oportunidades y retosEl artículo trata de ofrecer un diagnóstico de la empresa exportadora y con interés en el mercado internacional desde una perspectiva de género. Para ello, mostramos evidencia descriptiva construida con datos de España, recopilados por ICEX, que permite explorar cuáles son las características de las empresas con interés en internacionalización siguiendo una perspectiva de género, si existen diferencias tanto en el uso de los instrumentos de apoyo del ICEX como en los mercados de destino de esos apoyos cuando el líder o el titular de la empresa es una mujer, y si hay diferencias en los itinerarios de exportación.This paper aims to offer a diagnosis of exporting companies with an interest in the international market from a gender perspective.
