In Antimyosin Monoclonal Antibody in the Detection of Doxorubicin Cardiotoxicity: a Comparison with Histology and 99mTc Pyrophosphate
Recently, lllIn-antimyosin monoclonal antibidies (IllIn-AMAb) have
been introduced for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. The purpose of this
study was to investigate the feasibility of using this agent for the early detection
of cardiac damage induced by doxorubicin. The degree of drug induced change in
the myocardium was evaluated histologically. 99mTc pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP),
known to preferentially accumulate in Adriamycin caused lesions, was used as a
control radiopharmaceutical. Myocardial uptake of 111In-AMAb and 99mTc-PYP
was measured in 12 controls and 10 Adriamycin treated rabbits. The results
indicated the following: 1) 111In-AMAb uptake in the heart correlated well with
the degree of pathology (r=O.95); 2) 99mTc-PYP uptake was also correlated with
cardiac damage (r=O.77); 3) The uptake ratio (expressed as percent injected dose
per gram myocardial tissue) of Adriamycin treated animals vs. controls was 2.7: 1
for 111In-AMAb and 9.2 for 99mTc-PYP nt 24 and 2 hours after intravenous
injection, respectively; 4) considerable non-specific 99mTc_PYP accumulation was
measured in the lungs and kidneys and was significantly higher in drug treated
animals compared to controls. 111In-AMAb accumulation remained unchanged in
these organs. We conclude that 111In-AMAb accurately detects cardiac toxicity
induced by Adriamycin but that 99mTc_PYP still remains an acceptable agent in
part because, of its availability and higher tracer concentration in the cardiac
lesions
Bilateral adrenal pheochromocytoma with a germline L790F mutation in the RET oncogene
About ten percent of pheochromocytomas are associated with familial syndrome. Hereditary pheochromocytoma has characteristics of early onset, multifocality and bilaterality. We experienced a case of 44-year-old man with bilateral pheochromocytoma without evidence of medullary thyroid cancer. Genetic test detected a L790F germline mutation of RET oncogene. The author found a necessity for genetic tests in cases of young-age, bilateral pheochromocytoma
The Globular Cluster System of M60 (NGC 4649). I. CFHT MOS Spectroscopy and Database
We present the measurement of radial velocities for globular clusters in M60,
giant elliptical galaxy in the Virgo cluster. Target globular cluster
candidates were selected using the Washington photometry based on the deep
16\arcmin \times 16\arcmin images taken at the KPNO 4m and using the
photometry derived from the HST/WFPC2 archive images. The spectra of the target
objects were obtained using the Multi-Object Spectrograph (MOS) at the
Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT). We have measured the radial velocity for
111 objects in the field of M60: 93 globular clusters (72 blue globular
clusters with and 21 red globular clusters with
), 11 foreground stars, 6 small galaxies, and the nucleus of
M60. The measured velocities of the 93 globular clusters range from
km s to km s, with a mean value of
km s, which is in good agreement with the velocity of the nucleus of M60
( km s). Combining our results with data in the
literature, we present a master catalog of radial velocities for 121 globular
clusters in M60. The velocity dispersion of the globular clusters in the master
catalog is found to be km s for the entire sample,
km s for 83 blue globular clusters, and

Development and validation of a prediction model for knee joint line orientation after high tibial osteotomy
Background
Maintenance of optimal knee joint line orientation (KJLO) is important after high tibial osteotomy (HTO). No tools, however, are currently available that could predict the value of postoperative KJLO before surgery. First, this study sought to determine the effects of various preoperative anatomical alignment parameters to postoperative KJLO. Based upon these analyses, we aimed to devise an equation that predicts the value of postoperative KJLO.
Methods
A total of 14 radiographic parameters were measured in preoperative and postoperative full-limb standing anteroposterior radiographs on 50 patients who underwent open-wedge HTO. The parameters were analysed using multivariable linear regression to predict KJLO after HTO. External validation of the equation was done with 20 patients who underwent HTO at another institution.
Results
After HTO, KJLO increased from − 0.8° to 2.9° (P < 0.001). Based on the multivariable linear regression analysis, an equation was derived that can estimate postoperative KJLO after HTO; postoperative KJLO(°) = 1.029 + 0.560 × preoperative KJLO(°) + 0.310 × preoperative tibia plateau inclination(°) + 0.463 × aimed correction angle(°). The adjusted coefficients of determination value for this equation was 0.721. The equation also showed good calibration and predictability in external validation with predicted squared correlation coefficient of 0.867.
Conclusions
This study analysed the effects of preoperative anatomical alignment parameters on the postoperative KJLO. An equation which predicts postoperative KJLO with preoperative anatomical alignment factors was devised and validated. This equation would help in selecting optimal patients for HTO and in selecting the optimal target correction angle in HTO
The Globular Cluster System of M60 (NGC 4649). II. Kinematics of the Globular Cluster System
We present a kinematic analysis of the globular cluster (GC) system in the
giant elliptical galaxy (gE) M60 in the Virgo cluster. Using the photometric
and spectroscopic database of 121 GCs (83 blue GCs and 38 red GCs), we have
investigated the kinematics of the GC system. We have found that the M60 GC
system shows a significant overall rotation. The rotation amplitude of the blue
GCs is slightly smaller than or similar to that of the red GCs, and their
angles of rotation axes are similar. The velocity dispersions about the mean
velocity and about the best fit rotation curve for the red GCs are marginally
larger than those for the blue GCs. Comparison of observed stellar and GC
velocity dispersion profiles with those calculated from the stellar mass
profile shows that the mass-to-light ratio should be increased as the
galactocentric distance increases, indicating the existence of an extended dark
matter halo. The entire sample of GCs in M60 is found to have a tangentially
biased velocity ellipsoid unlike the GC systems in other gEs. Two subsamples
appear to have different velocity ellipsoids. The blue GC system has a modest
tangentially biased velocity ellipsoid, while the red GC system has a modest
radially biased or an isotropic velocity ellipsoid. From the comparison of the
kinematic properties of the M60 GC system to those of other gEs (M87, M49, NGC
1399, NGC 5128, and NGC 4636), it is found that the velocity dispersion of the
blue GC system is similar to or larger than that of the red GC system except
for M60, and the rotation of the GC system is not negligible. The entire sample
of each GC system shows an isotropic velocity ellipsoid except for M60, while
the subsamples show diverse velocity ellipsoids. We discuss the implication of

Source Characteristics of Atmospheric CO(2)and CH(4)in a Northeastern Highland Area of South Korea
This study aims to present the atmospheric CO(2)and CH(4)levels and analyze their source characteristics at an observation station in a northeastern highland area of Korea for the 2012-2014 period. We summarized the measured CO(2)and CH(4)concentrations for the 2012-2014 period. In addition, we characterized the major source of the rise of CO(2)and CH(4)in Ganseong (GS) by employing bivariate polar plots (BPP) and the concentration weighted trajectory (CWT) method together with currently available information on emission sources. For the three years, CO(2)was generally high in the order of winter, spring, autumn and summer and CH(4)high in the order of winter, autumn, spring and summer. The observed positive correlations between the hourly CO(2)and CH(4)in every season suggested the possibility of shared common emission sources, but there is a necessity for elucidation on this in the future. The BPP analysis indicated the local sources that are likely to be associated with the rise of greenhouse gases (GHGs) observed at GS (combustion in the village, plant respirations nearby GS, and mobile emissions on the nearby road for CO(2)and leakages from the gas stations along the road and agricultural activities for CH4). Synthesizing the CWT results together with emission source information from national and global emission inventories, we identified likely major source areas and characterized major emission sources. For example, the identified major sources for the winter CO(2)are coal combustion, coal washing and industrial activities in Inner Mongolia, northern and the northeastern China, fuel burning for the energy for the infrastructure of a northwestern city in South Korea, and the manufacturing industry and fuel combustion in the northern parts of North Korea. Hopefully, these kinds of results will aid environmental researchers and decision-makers in performing more in-depth studies for GHG sources in order to derive effective mitigation strategies
