Large N lattice QCD and its extended strong-weak connection to the hypersphere
We calculate an effective Polyakov line action of QCD at large Nc and large
Nf from a combined lattice strong coupling and hopping expansion working to
second order in both, where the order is defined by the number of windings in
the Polyakov line. We compare with the action, truncated at the same order, of
continuum QCD on S^1 x S^d at weak coupling from one loop perturbation theory,
and find that a large Nc correspondence of equations of motion found in
\cite{Hollowood:2012nr} at leading order, can be extended to the next order.
Throughout the paper, we review the background necessary for computing higher
order corrections to the lattice effective action, in order to make higher

The House Price Impacts of Corporate Headquarter Relocations
This project examines the house price impacts of corporate headquarter relocations. Corporate relocations potentially impact house prices through the increase or decrease in local economic activity that results from the relocation event. Using a difference in differences approach, I compare the impacts of a relocation on a metropolitan statistical area (MSA) house prices to similar metropolitan statistical areas house prices that have not seen relocations by corporations. Local house price indexes from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) are used to examine changes in house prices at the MSA level to gauge a relocation effect. Data on the housing market characteristics from the U.S. Census Bureau is used to create a sample of comparison cities. Analysis is conducted using data before and after a relocation to analyze house prices appreciation rate impacts from a corporationās headquarter relocation or merger during the 2000 to 2015 time period. It is expected that data will indicate a negative effect due to the exit of a firm and a boost to the local economy that receives a firmās new headquarters
Calculating the chiral condensate diagrammatically at strong coupling
We calculate the chiral condensate of QCD at infinite coupling as a function
of the number of fundamental fermion flavours using a lattice diagrammatic
approach inspired by recent work of Tomboulis, and other work from the 80's. We
outline the approach where the diagrams are formed by combining a truncated
number of sub-diagram types in all possible ways. Our results show evidence of
convergence and agreement with simulation results at small Nf. However,
contrary to recent simulation results, we do not observe a transition at a
critical value of Nf. We further present preliminary results for the chiral
condensate of QCD with symmetric or adjoint representation fermions at infinite
coupling as a function of Nf for Nc = 3. In general, there are sources of error
in this approach associated with miscounting of overlapping diagrams, and
over-counting of diagrams due to symmetries. These are further elaborated upon

The economic value of viewing migratory shorebirds on the Delaware Bay: An application of the single site travel cost model using on-site data
We estimated a count data model of recreation demand using data from an on-site survey of recreational birders who had visited southern Delaware during the monthālong annual horseshoe crab/shorebird spring migration in 2008. We analyzed daytrips only. Our estimates from the models ranged from 142/trip/household or about 582/season/household (2008$). The variation was due to differences in the value of time. The average household size was 1.66. We found that the valuation results were sensitive to the inclusion of covariates in the model. We use contingent valuation to estimate the value of day and overnight trips separately and use a discrete choice question followed by a payment-card question to generate our valuation data. Our best estimates for the value of a day trip are about 90/household and for an overnight trip about 425/household (200863/trip/person to $442/trip/person.
