Nature and Mysticism in Wordsworth’s and Whitman’s poetry
Nature and natural phenomena always inspire scientists, saints, poets and philosophers throughout civilizations to introspect. Among the great western poets Wordsworth from England and Walt Whitman from America stand most close to nature than anyone else This article tries to compare these great poets of nature. If for Wordsworth nature is a teacher, for Whitman nature is a preacher. Wordsworth broods over nature being close to it but not part to it. Wordsworth often contemplates nature. Whitman worships. But both the poets lived with nature through their poetic expressions. But being in different spaces made them a little different. These poets were preoccupied with the themes of spirit, nature, immortality, mysticism and similar things. Although they wrote about more than two hundred years ago, their ideals are as relevant today bas they were in their times. Observing the crisis of these times, the only hope to free ourselves from its ill effects is to seek shelter in their ideals. They have the power to free man from the disillusionment with the present times. Their poetry can never become obsolete. That is the reason why I pursued this article, to show how they are relevant in our times
The Terrible and Destructive Human Tragedy of Subaltern Kashmir in the light of Agha Shahid Ali’s poetry
Ali depicted in general the terrible and destructive human tragedy of subaltern but in particular he put forth the subaltern voice of Kashmir in the landscape of his poetry, and this novelty emerges from the chaos of Kashmir. He had been educated in English and he develops the interest in English language and literature. So English literature has influenced him and his behavior had changed accordingly that he became well aware about postcoloniality. He wants to get rid from these clenches all the countries of the world as well as his motherland Kashmir which he also represented in his poetry. He is extremely worried not only with his previously colonized home „the Indian subcontinent, particularly the region of Kashmir‟ but also with other cultures subject to the repercussion of colonialism and the modern neocolonial order. He writes poetry of „compassionate cosmopolitanism,‟ which, fixed in his multi-cultural tradition, not only foregrounds an ethics of empathy across countrywide and civilizing limitations but also implies an assessment of colonial and neo-colonial power. His cosmopolitanism is especially meaningful if read in the context of postwar American travel poetry and enables a review of the association between “home” and “foreign,” between local issues and universal apprehensions
Quest of Identity in Eugene O’ Neil’s The Hairy Ape
Quest is one of the important Archetypes of literature. It is ubiquitous in literature from ancient times. The focus of the present article is to study the play “The Hairy Ape” written by Eugene O’Neill as a narrative of quest of belongingness and identity. The aim is to show how all the elements of quest narrative are present in the plot of this play. The play is the quest narrative in the backdrop of modern civilization. The sense of identity and belongingness is like the Holy Grail quest. All the elements of the quest plot are realistic in place of fantastic. Being expressionistic play all the depths of heart and mind are given an overt expression. This article tries to analyze the quest of identity in The Hairy Ape by Eugene O’ Neil
Poetry and Nationalism: Comparative analysis of Emerson and Mehjoor
Poets are the nation builders. Poets have always fueled the nationalistic movements all over the world from ancient times. Whatever be the nativity of the poets, they use the same motifs, themes and the historical representations in order to proclaim the nationalistic fervor. I have chosen two representative poets of the east and the west and under different political conditions to argue their similarities on the subject of nationalism. Ralph Waldo Emerson from America and Gulam Ahmad Mehjoor from Kashmir are the subject of my analysis. Both these poets are great in their own field. But they have the same nationalistic zeal. Both these poets advice and entreat both leaders and the common men to stand and defend their nation with courage, proper dedication and spirit. The focus of my study is to compare the two great poets on the theme of nationalism. There are many things common between the two poets such as veneration for nature, mysticism, belief in communal harmony and fraternity, and above all zeal of nationalism. Although they lived in different times and situations they deal with the subject of national consciousness in the same manner and brevity
Blended Narrative in Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye
Noble prize winner Toni Morrison has achieved a place in the annals of world literature. One of her best-known novels The Bluest Eye has always surprised the critics. The innovation in terms of narrative using different techniques that can be defined as blended narrative has been the concern for her major critics. This article makes the analysis of this narrative techniques and innovations employed by Toni Morison in her literary masterpiece, The Bluest Eye. This article defends the different narrative techniques employed and their proper purpose at a particular time. The author has used Dick and Jane primer as an epigraph to the novel in three different ways and as ironical titles to different chapters. The author has used different narrators to serve the specific purposes. The novel begins with Claudia as a narrator, and then there are sections of zero focalized narrations and some sections of female narration in first person narrator. However, one is surprised why does the writer employ this technique? This article tries to answer this
The exam performance of medical students with dyslexia: a review of the literature
Introduction:
Dyslexia is a common condition. Estimates suggest it effects approximately 10% of the worldwide population, and 1.7% of UK medical students. This review aimed to explore the existing literature concerning the exam performance of medical students with dyslexia.
Methods:
A Review of Medline, ERIC, PsychInfo, The Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA checklist. Papers were accepted if they concerned the exam performance of medical students with dyslexia.
Results:
Three papers were selected for review. These were all cross-sectional studies comparing exam results in students with dyslexia and without dyslexia – and the impacts of extra time in exams. A risk of bias assessment determined that all three were appropriate to include in this review. A meta-analysis was planned but could not be performed because the number of studies was low and heterogeneity between the studies too high.
There was consensus that Multiple Choice Question exams were fair for students with dyslexia, when extra time was allowed. Essay type exams were found to be particularly challenging for students with dyslexia. Students with dyslexia were also found to be at a disadvantage in their first year.
Discussion:
Overall, the evidence suggests that medical students with dyslexia are slower to adapt to medical school and under-perform early in the course. However, with appropriate supports, they appear to perform on a par with their non-dyslexic peers as they progress through their course.
Our review highlights the need for more research in the medical student population.

Facial antibioma formation: A case report.
Odontogenic infections are associated with a variety of microorganisms. Antibiotics are commonly used for the management of various dental infections and have a proven role in decreasing morbidity and mortality caused by infectious diseases. The frequent and over usage of antibiotics has been associated with a number of consequences such as the selection of drug resistant strains, and the formation of antibiomas. Antibiomas are characterized by the formation of a localized pathology surrounded by thick fibrous tissues in response to long term antibiotics use. An established antibioma is characterized by a tough fibrous swelling accompanied by painful or painless swelling, intermittent fever and constitutional symptoms. In this article, we are reporting the case of a facial antibioma formed due to prolonged use of antibiotics prescribed for a residual periapical infection following endodontic treatment. In addition, the association of using antibiotics in this context is discussed
Pilonidal sinus: excision and primary closure over suction drain and its outcome
Background: Pilonidal sinus is a chronic inflammatory disease predominantly involving Sacrococcygeal region. Despite advances in medical sciences, management of pilonidal disease is still not well defined. Treatment varies from simple techniques to more sophisticated surgeries with their own pros and cons.
Methods: This prospective observational study comprised of forty-two patients who underwent the surgery for pilonidal sinus as per the procedure described. This study was carried from 1 May 2019 till 30 November 2022. Median age of the patients was 24.5 years, ranging between 19-32 years. Sinus discharge was the predominant symptom of our study population with 34 patients (80.94%) complaining of same.
Results: Mean operative time was 54 minutes with a range of 45-78 minutes. Average hospital stay was 1.8 days though it ranged from 1 to 3 days. Five patients (11.90%) developed seroma while four patients (9.52%) had superficial wound site infection. We had two recurrences (4.76%) over the follow-up period of 1 year.
Conclusions: Excision and primary closure of the pilonidal disease is effective with comparable complication rates and shorter time off work. The surgery can be easily performed
Process Matching: Performance Trade-Off Between Summary and Full-Length Descriptions
Business process models are used by modeling experts to concisely depict the workflow of an organization that plays a pivotal role in the development of ERP systems. A growing number of organizations also maintain the textual process descriptions of these process models as the descriptions are understandable across the board. A recent study has revealed that these textual descriptions can also be used for an accurate process model search. However, the use of textual descriptions is a resource-intensive task due to the sheer size of the descriptions. To that end, in this paper, we have proposed an approach that relies on the use of summary textual descriptions, instead of full-length descriptions, to enhance the performance of process matching. To evaluate the proposed approach, we have used four diverse text summarization techniques, including a state-of-the-art deep learning based technique, for generating summary descriptions, and seven text-matching techniques for finding relevant process specifications. Our empirical study has established that the Vector Space Model is the most effective technique for process matching. Furthermore, the use of Lingo generated summaries, at a compression rate of 50 %, can achieve a higher efficiency as well as effectiveness than the full-length textual process descriptions
