    Modern Immunology: Cells and Molecules

    Get PDF
In this presentation I shall discuss 1) some historical highlights n the field of immunology; 2) the molecules of immunity, particularly the immunoglobulins; and 3) the cells of immunity, particularly the immunocytes. This presentation may provide a background for subsequent articles

    CITIES OF THE FUTURE

    Get PDF
As urbanization continues, we need to find tools to make our cities more livable, productive and efficient. We do that by increasing attention to public spaces, improving the quality of transportation, delivering services quickly and efficiently. Technology necessarily plays a leading role and U.S. companies are poised to deliver solutions to do that. Keywords: livable, smart city, technology, investment

The effects of optic zone diameter in orthokeratology

    Get PDF
Seven orthokeratology patients were studied to determine whether the myopic orthokeratology treatments of 7.0, 6.0, 5.0 mm optical zones would make a significant difference in the outcome of visual acuity, apical radius, and treatment area. It was our hypothesis that the 7.0 mm optical zone would give the best outcome in visual acuity, the biggest change in apical radius and treatment area. Our hypothesis was supported in the two areas above. The 7.0 mm optical zone has the biggest change in the apical radius and treatment area. However, the best visual acuity outcome was seen with the 6.0 mm optical zone orthokeratology lenses

Linking PBIS with the School-Parent Compact

    Get PDF
Linking PBIS to the School-Parent Compact will provide a means for participants to link learning with a positive school culture. By utilizing the PBIS matrix, which is common to all students, roles and responsibilities are extended beyond the school. Our Title I School-Compact takes the PBIS expectations for students and extends them into expectations for the school and parents for the purpose of increasing student achievement. This allows everyone to be uniform and demonstrates how everyone can show their dedication to student learning and a positive school culture. The School-Parent Compact builds parent capacity while increasing parent involvement and student achievement

Beyond MP2 initialization for unitary coupled cluster quantum circuits

The unitary coupled cluster (UCC) ansatz is a promising tool for achieving high-precision results using the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) algorithm in the NISQ era. However, results on quantum hardware are thus far very limited and simulations have only accessed small system sizes. We advance the state of the art of UCC simulations by utilizing an efficient sparse wavefunction circuit solver and studying systems up to 64 qubits. Our results demonstrate the power of the UCC ansatz and address pressing questions about optimal initial parameterizations and circuit construction, among others. Our approach enables meaningful benchmarking of the UCC ansatz, a crucial step in assessing the utility of VQE for achieving quantum advantage
