Art therapy and adolescence in Chile; a case study for diagnosis and application

Este trabajo final de máster tiene como objetivo analizar las intervenciones de la arteterapia en la población adolescente chilena, para desarrollar estrategias y recursos de esta disciplina en la prevención de problemas de salud mental y contribuir al bienestar de las y los jóvenes. Este fue respondido desde un diagnóstico llevado a cabo a través del método de estudio de caso y desde un enfoque cualitativo. La muestra estuvo compuesta por profesionales de la arteterapia como también por un grupo de adolescentes que han tenido acercamiento a la arteterapia. Este estudio se realizó durante los meses de noviembre de 2021 a julio de 2022, y la recogida de datos fue principalmente a través de la virtualidad, contactando a personas específicas que pudieran entregar información valiosa para la investigación. Dentro de los hallazgos, se evidencia lo importante de las necesidades del/la adolescente dentro de la sesión de la arteterapia y para ello hay factores que considerar, como el tiempo de intervención, el encuadre, los materiales y la metodología. A su vez, se hace urgente la necesidad del reconocimiento de la disciplina ante las entidades gubernamentales, lo que permitiría que las personas más vulnerables pudiesen tener una experiencia en arteterapia, ofrecida por instituciones públicas que reconozcan la profesión como terapia complementaria.The objective of this master's thesis is to analyze the interventions of art therapy in the Chilean adolescent population, to develop strategies and resources of this discipline in the prevention of mental health problems and to contribute to the well-being of young people. This was answered from a diagnosis carried out through the case study method and from a qualitative approach. The sample was composed of art therapy professionals as well as a group of adolescents who have had an approach to art therapy. This study was conducted during the months of November 2021 to July 2022, and the data collection was mainly through virtuality, contacting specific people who could provide valuable information for the research. Among the findings, it is evident how important the needs of the adolescent are within the art therapy session and for this there are factors to consider, such as the intervention time, the setting, the materials, and the methodology. Competence in Digital Writing in Teacher Training: revision and rewriting tools for mini-essays associated with REVISATEXT
