Subjective wellbeing, sense of humor and psychological health in hemodialysis patients
Objective: To investigate the relationship between satisfaction with life in general, sense of humor, and anxiety, depression and stress with subjective happiness in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional and correlational study was developed in two units of the Diaverum dialysis clinic and one hospital unit, with 183 chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis. An instrument was used to characterize the sociodemographic and clinical profile of the sample (age, gender, nationality, education, occupation, marital status, dialysis sessions length, presence of hypertension and diabetes): the subjective happiness scale; the satisfaction with life in general; depression, anxiety and stress scale 21; and multidimensional sense of humor scale. Inferential procedures included Spearman correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression adjusting to age, marital status, professional activity and diabetes.Results: Subjective Happiness was positively correlated with satisfaction with life in general, and the three dimensions of Sense of Humor. Nevertheless, subjective happiness was negatively correlated with stress / anxiety and depression. Satisfaction with life in general, humor production and social use of humor, and attitude towards humor had a positive relationship with subjective happiness. However, depression had a negative relationship with subjective happiness. Conclusions: Higher levels of subjective happiness were associated with higher levels of satisfaction with life in general, and sense of humor, however they were also associated with lower levels of depression in patients undergoing hemodialysis
La intervención humor en la interacción enfermero-paciente
Objective:
To describe the factors influencing the use of humor in nursing care, its applicability and benefits.
Method:
A scoping review was performed using the Arksey and O’Mally methodology. A search for articles published between 2008 and 2018 was performed using the platforms EBSCO Host, Virtual Health Library and Google Scholar.
Results:
From the initial 465 articles found, 17 were included for final revision. Data allowed to retrieve information on humor definition; its applicability as a nursing intervention; humor as a tool to improve nurse-patient communication and relationship; influence factors; type of humor interventions; humor benefits in health care context and; limitations and precautions of humor intervention.
Conclusion:
The use of humor promotes both communication and human interaction; it promotes well-being; helps deal/cope with difficult and unpleasant situations, reduces tension, discomfort and stress; and strengthens the immune system. This intervention should be used with caution
Dying in the emergency service: nurses’ attitudes before and after the first critical period of COVID-19
Background: Death is an increasingly frequent event in hospitals, and nurses are the health professionals who live with this reality
the most. The pandemic caused by COVID-19 made this event more present, showing that nurses’ attitudes toward death may
influence the care provided to people at the end of life. The objective of this study was to analyze the attitudes of nurses in the
emergency service toward death, before and after the first critical period of the pandemic by COVID-19 in Portugal.
Methods: A quantitative, comparative, and cross-sectional study was conducted in a hospital in Northern Portugal at 2 different
moments: the first in February 2018 and the second in May 2020, after the first critical period of the pandemic by COVID-19. In both
moments, data were collected using a self-completion questionnaire, which included the Death Attitude Profile Assessment Scale.
Results: The attitudes fear, avoidance, closeness, and escape did not show significant differences. In neutral/neutral acceptance,
differences were found between the first and second moments of data collection (P=.01), with a lower mean after the critical period of
the pandemic.
Conclusions: The results obtained in 2018 and 2020 showed slight changes in attitudes toward death. The need to invest in the
training and preparation of nurses who deal directly with death and the dying process was evident. Nurse managers should promote
spaces for reflection and team training on death, aiming to reduce the professionals’ suffering and anxiety.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
INCIDÊNCIA E CARACTERIZAÇÃO DAS FLEBITES NOTIFICADAS ELETRONICAMENTE EM UM HOSPITAL DE ENSINO
Objetivo: analisar a incidência e as notificações de flebite em um hospital de ensino. Método: estudo observacional retrospectivo, realizado em Salvador, Bahia, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados com base nas notificações de incidentes relacionados à assistência à saúde, ocorridas no período de janeiro/2016 a dezembro/2017. Realizou-se análise descritiva. Resultados: foram notificados 277 casos de flebite, com incidência variando entre 1,45% e 26,09% no período do estudo. A maioria das flebites ocorreu em indivíduos adultos (63,27%); raça negra (66,06%); e com baixo nível de escolaridade (53,43%). O uso prolongado de medicamentos e/ou uso de medicamento irritante (52%) foram citados como principais causas do evento; 95,31% foram classificados como não graves. Conclusão: a incidência de flebite variou no período de estudo, e as notificações em um hospital de ensino apontaram para danos à saúde da maioria dos pacientes com flebites notificadas.Descritores: Eventos Adversos. A LÍNGUA DE SINAIS NA CONSTRUÇÃO DA IDENTIDADE DOS SURDOS NO MUNICÍPIO DE JI-PARANÁ: SIGN LANGUAGE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF DEAF IDENTITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JI-PARANÁ
The present research aims to evidence facts from history where the beginning of instruction and learning of the Brazilian Language of Signals - LIBRAS for the majority of the deaf and some listeners in the middle of 2001 until the present day and the achievements achieved by the deaf community in the municipality of Ji-Paraná / Rondônia. For the collection of the facts, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the deaf, interpreted and involved in this process, showing relevant interpretative data and not yet recorded / cataloged. The initiative of educational and religious institutions was essential for the teaching and learning of Libras and with this, the deaf became protagonists in society.

Para a produção dos dados, foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturada a surdo, intérpretes e envolvidos neste processo, evidenciando dados interpretativos de relevância e que ainda não havia sido registrados/catalogados. A iniciativa das instituições educacionais e religiosas foram essenciais para ensino e aprendizagem da Libras e com isso, os surdos se fizeram protagonistas da sua história nesse meio social
Mental health, quality of life and optimism during the covid-19 pandemic: a comparison between Brazil and Portugal
Purpose Although there have been numerous studies investigating the mental health of individuals during the pandemic,
a comparison between countries is still scarce in the literature. To explore this gap, the present study aimed to compare the
mental health (i.e., anxiety and depression), quality of life (QoL), and optimism/pessimism among individuals from Brazil
and Portugal during the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated factors.
Method A cross-sectional population-based study was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil and Portugal.
Data collection was carried out between May and June 2020, using an online form which was sent through social networks.
A total of 2069 participants (1156 from Brazil and 913 from Portugal) were included. Depressive symptoms (PHQ-9), Anxiety (GAD-7), optimism/pessimism (Revised Life Orientation Test – LOT), QoL (WHOQOL-Bref), and sociodemographic,
health, and social distancing variables were assessed. Data was analyzed using univariate and multivariate models.
Results There were remarkable diferences between Brazil and Portugal in all outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic,
including higher levels of depressive symptoms, anxiety, and optimism for the Brazilian individuals and higher levels of
QoL and pessimism for the Portuguese individuals. The following factors were associated with the mental health and QoL
in both Brazilian and Portuguese populations: gender, age, being a healthcare professional, and days in social distancing.
Conclusion Despite the fact that Brazilians were more optimistic during the COVID-19 pandemic, they had lower levels of
mental health and QoL as compared to the Portuguese individuals.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

A saúde deve ser preservada pelas próprias pessoas, em processos de autocuidado que podem ser apoiados pelo agir profissional.
O continuum de vida vai mostrando, nos adultos e idosos, a acumulação de fatores de risco que os podem eventualmente fragilizar. Abordar situações de doença complexa requer, muitas vezes, intervenção transdisciplinar, onde se localizam os cuidados de enfermagem de reabilitação. É preciso ajudar as pessoas a manterem a capacidade de autocuidado e a viverem as transições de vida de modo saudável. O foco do agir é a promoção da saúde, a prevenção da doença, o tratar, a reabilitação e a gestão de sintomas, capacitando, no seu conjunto, para a independência e para as transições saudáveis. ESTRESSE OCUPACIONAL RELACIONADO À ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM EM TERAPIA INTENSIVA
Objetivo: estimar a prevalência de estresse ocupacional entre profissionais de enfermagem que atuam em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva e identificar sua associação com variáveis sociodemográficas, profissionais e relacionadas à assistência de enfermagem. Método: estudo transversal, realizado em um hospital de ensino de Salvador, Bahia, Brasil, com 54 profissionais. Os dados foram coletados entre fevereiro e março de 2020 por meio da Escala Bianchi de Stress e analisados pelo Programa Stata. Resultados: a prevalência de estresse ocupacional em nível médio ou alto foi de 57,4%. Maiores níveis de estresse foram associados significativamente ao menor tempo de formação (p-valor=0,05), ser enfermeiro (p-valor=0,00), enfrentar a morte do paciente (p-valor=0,01), atender aos familiares dos pacientes críticos (p-valor=0,00) e atender às necessidades dos familiares (p-valor=0,00). Conclusão: a elevada prevalência de estresse ocupacional, bem como os fatores associados identificados, foram informações essenciais para implementação de estratégias preventivas. Benefits of laughter-inducing and humor nursing interventions in people undergoing haemodialysis
Objective: To know the health and welfare benefits of Laughter-inducing and humor nursing interventions in people with CKD
undergoing haemodialysis.
Methods: Systematic Review of Literature (RSL). The research was conducted between November 2018 and May 2019. Articles
were selected through the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) and EBSCOhost databases, whose research was complemented
by Google Scholar. Articles published between 2014 and 2019 were searched and articles published with the Portuguese, English
and Spanish language were used as criteria for inclusion, articles available with full text, referring to elderly / elderly people
undergoing haemodialysis, which included primary experimental studies and quasi-experimental and that use as intervention
humor, laughter-inducing therapy.
Results: Five articles were selected, with quasi-experimental studies showing the control and reduction of blood pressure, the
quality of life, the promotion of well-being (happiness and satisfaction with life in general), the reduction of depression, stress and
anxiety and increased sense of humor are the main benefits of laughter-inducing and humor nursing interventions.
Conclusion: Laughter-inducing and humor nursing interventions have benefits in the health and well-being of people undergoing
haemodialysis and help them cope with disease and treatmen
Os desafios do professor-tutor à distância no ensino superior / The challenges of the teacher-tutor to distance in higher education
Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar os processos de educação à distância pelo viés humano pedagógico do professor tutor, um importantíssimo profissional que é protagonista nas relações ensino x aprendizagem na EaD. Na introdução é apresentado um levantamento de como funcionam as discussões atuais do cenário EaD e é apresentado a metodologia da pesquisa. No desenvolver da pesquisa apresentamos diversos aparatos legais sobre o ensino à distância, finalmente, nas considerações conclusivas, opinamos pelo feedback e a formação continuada dos tutores que atuam na modalidade de educação à distância, que é sem dúvida mobilizadora para a inserção de sujeitos no ensino superior, principalmente em pequenas e micro cidades brasileiras que não contam com estrutura física para recebimento presencial de faculdades e universidades públicas e privadas. Nessa pesquisa, abordaremos outros aspectos da demanda contemporânea da EAD, dentre elas, algumas inquietações como: quais são os desafios do professor tutor à distância no ensino superior? De que maneira esses professores podem conceber com qualidade o ensino na educação? Dessa forma, pretenderemos explanar que o ensino à distância além de possibilitar formação no ensino superior às regiões longínquas dos grandes centros, deve se preocupar com a formação de seus professores-tutores, para que a qualidade esteja garantida nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem. É dever também que as instituições de ensino promovam formação continuada em prol dos agentes das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação, que abarcam e muito o comprometimento dos professores.
