A field experiment on African marigold (Targets erecta L.) was conducted during winter season of 2014-15to study the foliar effect of Zn and SA of 20 treatment combinations having five concentrations of zinc (0.0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0 %) and salicylic acid (0.0, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.0 mM/L).The treatmentZn4SA3 (Zinc 1% + Salicylic acid 1.0 mM/L) recorded the maximum plant height (77.41 cm), number of leaves per plant (314.10),earliest first flower bud appearance (39.78 days), maximum number of flowers per plant (62.33), maximum chlorophyll content (3.83mg/g) and maximum carotene content (3.07 mg/g)as compared to control where it was recorded minimum. These results are conclusive that foliar spraying with zinc 1.0% + salicylic acid 1.0 mM/L may positively increasedthe growth and flowering parametersof marigold

An experiment entitled “Performance and genetic variability studies in okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench)” was carried out during August 2019 to November 2019 at the Research farm, College of Agriculture, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). The experiment comprised of 12 varieties and hybrids of okra viz. ‘P-8’, ‘Pusa Bhindi-5’, ‘Samrat F1 Hybrid’, ‘Punjab Suhawani’, ‘Arka Nikita’, ‘Shakshi F1 Hybrid’, ‘Palam Komal’, ‘Kashi Kranti’, ‘Shakti F1 Hybrid’, ‘Arka Anamika’, ‘Kashi Pragati’ and ‘Laxmi F1 Hybrid’ and was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. Significant differences were found amongst the varieties and hybrids of okra for the studied characters. The ‘Arka Anamika’ recorded the maximum number of branches per plant (2.80), stem diameter (17.10 mm), number of leaves per plant (69.06), number of fruit per plant (25.80), fruit yield per plant (319.78 g), fruit yield per plot (4.95 kg), estimated fruit yield per hectare (122.30 q). The ‘Palam Komal’ recorded the maximum plant height (139.73) and numbers of nodes on main stem (30.80). The ‘Laxmi F1 Hybrid’ produced the largest leaves (156.86 cm2). The earliest first flower anthesis and 50% flowering and first picking were noted in ‘Kashi Pragati’ (38.67, 39.33 and 45.40 DAS, respectively). The ‘Pusa Bhindi-5’ recorded the maximum fruit length (12.36 cm). The ‘Samrat F1 Hybrid’ recorded the maximum fruit diameter (16.02 mm) and fruit weight (12.99 g). The maximum shelf life of fruit was recorded in ‘Kashi Kranti’ (4.47 Days). Five ridges per fruit were exhibited in all the okra varieties and hybrids. From the present investigation it can be concluded that okra variety ‘Arka Anamika’ performed best for various growth and yield traits under arid climatic conditions of Rajasthan

A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of BAP, GA3, and NAA on flowering and growth attributes of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) cv. Arka Anamika at the Instructional  farm, Agricultural Research Station, Jodhpur Rajasthan during Kharif, 2020. Three treatments each of BAP@ T1-25, T2-50, andT3-75(ppm), GA3 @T4-25, T5-50, andT6-75 (ppm), and NAA @ T7-25, T8-50, and T9-75 (ppm)were used besides controls i.e. T0 with water spray. These three growth regulators were found to enhance early flowering. Other parameters of growth were also found to be increased by treatments with plant growth regulators in okra. Among the growth parameters, the highest inter-nodal length (6.68 cm), plant height (156.4 cm), and leaf area index (3.1) aswas recorded with GA3 @ 75 ppm treatment, whereas maximum stem diameter (43.88 mm), number of branches per plant (5.10) and number of nodes on the main stem (25.05) were recorded with NAA @ 75 ppm. The minimum number of days to the appearance of first flowering (35.50), 50% flowering (41.80), and node on which the first flower appeared (3.82) were also recorded with NAA @ 75 ppm
