Enhanced oil recovery techniques and CO2 flooding
Tijekom godina je zanimanje za poveÄanjem iscrpka nafte (EOR) smanjeno zbog poveÄanja naftnih rezervi i proizvodnje. Ispitano je mnogo metoda, u laboratoriju i na terenu, kako bi se poveÄala proizvodnja nafte. OtkriÄe velikih naftnih polja u svijetu donijelo je na svjetsko tržiÅ”te velike koliÄine nafte. Uz to su procjene naftnih rezervi s nalaziÅ”ta na Bliskom Istoku znatno poveÄane, Å”to je dovelo do oÄekivanja da Äe ponuda nafte biti velika. Dok ležiÅ”ta stare, pojavljuju se dvojbe izmeÄu želje za oÄuvanjem buÅ”otina za moguÄe EOR procese i pomanjkanja ekonomskih poticaja zbog postojanja velikih rezervi nafte u svijetu.Over the years, interest in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) has been tempered by the increase in oil reserves and production. Many techniques have been investigated in the laboratory and the field for improving oil recovery. The discovery of major oil fields in the world added large volumes of oil to the worldwide market. In addition, estimates of reserves from reservoirs in the Middle East increased significantly, leading to the expectation that the oil supply will be plentiful. Although large volumes of oil remain in mature reservoirs, the oil will not be produced in large quantities by EOR processes unless these processes can compete economically with the cost of oil production from conventional sources. Thus, as reservoirs age, a dichotomy exists between the desire to preserve wells for potential EOR processes and the lack of economic incentive because of the existence of large reserves of oil in the world
