    Anthropo-Dreams – Ecopoems

    No full text
The modern genre of ecopoetry is concerned primarily with the human-caused effects of climate change and environmental degradation and disaster, and uses poetic tradition to advocate for natural preservation and protective environmental policy. Anthropo-Dreams is a written collection of twenty ecopoems, based in the local geographies of Montgomery County and the greater Pennsylvania area. Inspired by travel across the state, stopping at local Superfund sites and Brownfields, as well as local points of interest such as the Limerick Generating Station and Centralia PA, Anthropo-Dreams navigates the intersections between human beings and their environment, the concept of ecological guilt that haunts our world today, and aims to uncover through poetry a way forward into an environmentally healthy future

Spoken Word Presents Public Reading #3

    No full text
Public Reading #3, the last within the series from Dr. Keita\u27s Spoken Word course, presents audiences with new material devoted to praising, protesting, and testifying. The students of Spoken Word have really outdone themselves in engaging their emotions to their pieces, which hopefully audiences are able to notice throughout the reading. The Praise-Protest-Testimony workshop was meant for the students to break out of their comfort level of writing and express themselves, emotionally and personally, more through these three specific topics. The poems are driven more by content versus form
