    Home Location Estimation Using Weather Observation Data

    We can extract useful information from social media data by adding the user's home location. However, since the user's home location is generally not publicly available, many researchers have been attempting to develop a more accurate home location estimation. In this study, we propose a method to estimate a Twitter user's home location by using weather observation data from AMeDAS. In our method, we first estimate the weather of the area posted by an estimation target user by using the tweet, Next, we check out the estimated weather against weather observation data, and narrow down the area posted by the user. Finally, the user's home location is estimated as which areas the user frequently posts from. In our experiments, the results indicate that our method functions effectively and also demonstrate that accuracy improves under certain conditions.Comment: The 2017 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA2017

    NOS2 polymorphisms associated with the susceptibility to pulmonary arterial hypertension with systemic sclerosis: contribution to the transcriptional activity

    Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a connective tissue disease characterized by tissue fibrosis. One of several complications of SSc, pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) can be refractory to treatment, both novel and established. In the present study we investigated the ratio of circulating nitric oxide to endothelin-1 in patients with both SSc and PAH, and determined whether polymorphisms in NOS2 (the nitric oxide synthase 2 gene) are associated with susceptibility to PAH. Endothelin-1 in plasma and nitric oxide metabolites (nitrate and nitrite) in serum were measured. The nitric oxide/endothelin-1 ratio was significantly lower in patients with both SSc and PAH than in patients with SSc only or in healthy control individuals. We confirmed the presence of two single nucleotide polymorphisms at positions -1,026 and -277 and a pentanucleotide repeat (CCTTT) at -2.5 kilobases. There were significant differences in single nucleotide polymorphisms between patients with SSc who had PAH and those who did not, and between patients with both SSc and PAH and healthy control individuals. The CCTTT repeat was significantly shorter in patients with both SSc and PAH than in patients with SSc only or in healthy control individuals. Transcriptional activity were analyzed using the luciferase reporter assay. The transcriptional activity of NOS2 was much greater in fibroblasts transfected by a vector with a long allele of the CCTTT repeat than in those transfected by a vector with a short allele. Polymorphisms in the NOS2 gene are associated with transcriptional activity of the NOS2 gene and with susceptibility to SSc-related PAH

    ヘデラ(Hedera)属植物の低温臨界温度や最低致死温度を究明するためにヘデラ属5種を供試し,ハードニング処理の仕方によって人工ハードニングと無ハードニング,自然ハードニングの3通りの方法で人工環境気象室で生育実験を行った。その結果,今回,供試したヘデラ属植物の中ではH. helix L. が最も低温に対する耐性に富むこと,ハードニング処理した場合のH. helix L. の低温臨界温度は-9~-12℃,最低致死温度は-16℃内外,H. canariensis Willd. の低温臨界温度は-3~-6℃内外,最低致死温度は-8℃内外であること,また,ハードニング処理を施さなければ最低致死温度はH.helixL.で-10℃内外,H. canariensis Willd. で-6℃内外になることが明らかとなった。The experiments which analyze the lowest survival point and the lethal point of genus hedera have been held under hardening and non-hardening conditions. Three experimental categories have been prepared. First is the step down process, ie., acclimatic freezing process and the second is the plunged process which started at 20℃ and 0℃. The third is the semi-step down process which started at 2℃, used seasonal materials hardened during autumn and winter seasons. Freezing and thawing work were clone inside the artificial control chamber. The results and explanations are as follows. The most durable one is, H. helix L., down up to -9~-12℃, in which the lowest survival point and lethal point is -16℃. The lowest survival and lethal point of H. canariensis Willd., are -3~-6℃ and -8℃

    ヘデラ・ヘリックス(Hedera helix L.)の耐寒性の栽培育成条件による違い,および植物体の部位による低温感受性の違いを明らかにするために赤外線サーモグラフィ装置による植物体表面温度の解析を含めた一連の生育実験を行った。その結果,植物の耐寒性の度合,つまり最低致死温度等は空気温で表示するのではなく,植物体表面温度で示すことが望ましいこと,またへデラ属植物の耐寒性は温室,露地という栽培環境の違いや栄養条件の違いにはあまり左右されず,風と急激な気温の低下によって影響を受けること,さらには植物体の部位によっても低温感受性は異なることなどが示唆された。This study\u27s experiments exemplified how cultivation environment, nutritional management and cold winter climate affected the cold resistance of Hedera helix L. Infrared Thermography was utilized as an analyzing apparatus to exemplify how the sensitivity response to low temperature changed in each part of the plants. Consequently, thermal properties determined by the lethal low temperature which indicates cold resistance were not measured by the air temperature but by the surface temperature of plants. Regardless of cultivation environments, i.e., the nutritional condition and whether the plants were grown outdoors, or in green house, there were no differences in the cold resistance of Hedera helix L. However, the temperature of the plant surface was lowered steeply by a swirling fan wind simulating a cold winter wind. Hence, the leaves and shoots of the plants had obviously reached the necrosis level. Therefore, it was proven that the response to low-freezing temperature and the sensitivity to low temperature of each part of the plants were meaningfully different

    本報告は日本におけるのり面緑化の起源と変遷に関する研究の一環とし,原始から近代(大正期)に至るまでの関連する事業を企てた為政者や,その技術の進展に関わった人々の事例・功績をたどり,時代を追って概観したものである。また,個人としての人物だけでなく,技術者集団などの功績もまた,調査対象とした。その結果,大枠ながらも,日本におけるのり面緑化に携わり,その事業の展開や技術向上,新工法の創案などに貢献した人物,集団らの系譜,変遷を知ることができた。This report is presented as part of the research on the origin of "slope revegetation" and changes in Japan. It focuses on the distinguished services of the statesman who planned the enterprise from which primitive to modernization (Taisho term) relates, and those people concerned with progress of the technology. Not only individuals but also engineer groups distinguished services were inclused in the research. The authors were able to eluciclate and clarify the role and contribution to "slope revegetation" of individuals and groups, as well as documenting improvements in technology, the origins of new building methods and other relevant changes in Japan
