The Impact of Sustainability in Research-Development-Innovation Activity
In our scientific approach, we aimed to emphasize the significance of sustainability in the
research-development-innovation (RDI) activity. This activity should align with other economic
activities and prioritize the utilization of renewable resources whenever feasible. In cases where
renewable resources are not available, the use of non-renewable resources should be extended over
a longer timeframe, allowing for the identification and exploration of renewable alternatives. The
transfer of scientific knowledge (TSK) was also addressed, which should lead to an implementation
of the results of scientific research in the economy, and the ratification of this transfer can be done
both through qualitative and quantitative measures, with a greater emphasis on qualitative
measures. This transfer of knowledge must constantly adapt, especially when there are external
factors, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine in recent years
Fiscal Risk in the Activity of a Company
Fiscal risk can arise in countries where the government applies a tax system that has only one
purpose, to bring revenue to the budget. If a country wants to attract investors from other
countries, it must apply a proper tax system, without high taxes, because those investors will be
tempted to migrate to other countries with a more permissive tax system, perhaps even to those
countries considered tax havens. In addition to all this, an important role in implementing a tax
risk-free tax system is also globalisation. Nor should we forget inflation, which can occur and lead
to a high tax risk, which can result in an erosion of the income of enterprises and a decrease in
profitability. The objective of the paper is to highlight the tax risk to which an enterprise is subject
in various situations (inflation, globalisation) and their effects
Investment funds as financing alternative to revive local industry
The paper is oriented toward identifying the benefits offered by investment funds as financing alternatives to those entities in need for funding, thus in financing their growth. The research is developed as a case study being carried out for private equity investments example within the Romanian market. This alternative investment vehicle present the most comprehensive range of operations carried out by investment funds and their example can expose both the benefits and tradeoffs attached to this financing alternative financing. Methodologically, the analysis covers all stages of investment funds related to demarcation of the target entity, from the selection, evaluation, implementation, monitoring until the multiplication of investment while liquidation is in place
Financing of Research Activity from Private vs. Governmental in Romania
The research-development activity is an important compound within an economy. Therefore, this activity must be financed accordingly, both from sources from the state budget (governmentsources) and from private sources. Although, the finality of this activity is mostly to write articles, studies and to present the results at scientific events, this are ultimately the ground for innovationwhich leads to new or improved products. Let us not forget that the great discoveries of the worldwere based, in one form or another, on a research activity
Financing Research and Development Activities in the Construction Materials Industry. Comparative Study
Financing the research and development activities is an essential issue nowadays. Even if it seems costly, this activity became very important on a market where competitors appear constantly, providing products adjusted both technically and economically. In order to maintain a high level, investments are of utmost importance, including for research and development. Our scientific undertaking presents on a lower scale the evolution of three construction materials manufacturers in the world, as well as their evolution both in the field of financing research and development activities, as well as their position in the world classification established based on the process of financing this activity
"THE KNOWLEDGE TRIANGLE" IN A KNOWLEDGE-BASED SOCIETY
The knowledge-based society is the stage where mankind is found and aims to raise the living standards of population but also to increase the level of knowledge. To achieve this latter goal, the states of the world, and especially those in the European Union, must ensure an adequate funding for its realization, and therefore in 2011 it was decided at EU level the achievement of an Innovation Union, in which are to be involved all the European countries, while to stimulate and finance research and innovation the Horizon 2020 program was proposed. The results of the Program, an ”Innovation Union” have begun to be felt, so in 2011, the major companies headquartered in the European Union increased their investments in R&D by 8.9% compared to 6.1% in 2010. This increase was almost equal to that of the U.S.A. companies (9%), higher than the world average (7.6%) and superior to Japanese companies (1.5%). The sectors that used the research-development activity have tended to have
increases in employment above average. I believe this information highlights the fact that the European Union may become attractive for research-development and innovation investments even for businesses outside the UE, and this can result in jobs creation and increasing competitivenees of this field of the states of the European Union. In the introductory part of the article, I have briefly presented general notions of the three component activities of the ”knowledge triangle”, in the second part I presented the knowledge society with several features, in the third part, I showed some provisions of the program to stimulate research and innovation Horizon 2020, in the fourth part, I presented an innovation activity connection to private enterprise and entrepreneurial initiative stimulation in the field innovation, and the conclusions shows that research does not stop with achieving the objectives and finding the outcomes research, but is it the background for further research, especially in the context of a
new economy”, where innovation through knowledge is the most important
Activitatea de cercetare din România - prezent, modalităţi de reformare şi finanţare
Scientific research represents today the most important lever for improving the living standard, health, culture and, in general, the wealth of a society. Therefore, this paper attempts to present the current state of the research system in Romania, as well as several proposals for reforming this system, which would, consequently, lead to a better use of research results, as well as the presentation of ways of funding for research through research programs, both national and European. We should not omit the fact that adequate funding for the research system also has a social impact, by creating new jobs, especially if the research results are implemented in industry
INOVAREA-COMPONENTA PRINCIPALA A TRIUNGHIULUI CUNOASTERII
Science has begun to play an increasing role in industrial development not only as a major source of knowledge for new technological activities or scientointensive industries (medicine industry, chemistry, electronics), but also as essential input in testing, evaluation and quality control. Innovation is one of the activities that can generate economic and social progress. Therefore, this paper also approaches the significance of innovative information dissemination, as well as the objectives of this activity in view of the EU Member States. The European Union has prepared two funding programs for innovation activity, Europe 2020 and Horizon 2020
Organizarea şi finanţarea activităţii de cercetare într-o companie transnaţională. Studiu de caz
Globalization, defined as an international system based on: the integrationist trend, the interconnection between markets, nation-states and technologies to an unprecedented level, is founded on two key global players – international economic organizations and transnational corporations. At the beginning of XXI century, transnational companies are regarded as one of the biggest challenges for the current economic international order, because their decisions influences a large national economies. Constantly, during the last years Lafarge has been classified among "The Most Sustainable 100 Corporations in the world." Through its major research center, specialized in building materials, Lafarge places innovation on the top of its priorities, in order to ensure sustainable construction and architectural creativity
