Further analysis of field effects on liquids and solidification
Numerical calculations of the magnitude of external field effects on liquids are presented to describe how external fields can influence the substructure of the field. Quantitative estimates of magnetic and gravitational effects are reported on melts of metals and semiconductors. The results are condensed in tables which contain the input data for calculation of the field effects on diffusion coefficient, solidification rate and for calculation of field forces on individual molecules in the melt

Multiscale image analysis applied to gamma/hadron discrimination for VHE gamma-ray astronomy with ARGO-YBJ
Intrinsic differences in the processes involved in the development of
electromagnetic and hadronic showers in the atmosphere have been evidenced by
means of a careful analysis of the event image given by the ARGO-YBJ detector.
The images have been analyzed at different length scales and their multifractal
nature has been studied. The use of the multiscale approach together with a
properly designed and trained Artificial Neural Network, allowed us to obtain a
good gamma/hadron discrimination power. If confirmed by further studies on
different event cathegories, this result would allow to nearly double the

Performance characteristics of the 12 GHz, 200 watt transmitter experiment package for CTS
The experiment package consists of a 200 W output stage tube (OST) powered by a power processing system (PPS). Descriptions of both the PPS and OST are given. The PPS provides the necessary voltages with a measured dc/dc conversion efficiency of 89 percent. The OST, a traveling wave tube with multiple collectors, has a saturated rf output power of 224 W and operates at an overall efficiency exceeding 40 percent over an 85 MHz bandwidth at 12 GHz. OST performance given includes frequency response, saturation characteristics, group delay, AM to PM conversion, inter-modulation distortion, and two channel gain suppression. Single and dual channel FM video performance is presented. It was determined that for 12 MHz peak to peak frequency deviation on each channel, dual channel FM television signals can be transmitted through the TEP at 60 W, each channel, with 40 MHz channel spacing (center to center)

Physics of Quantum Relativity through a Linear Realization
The idea of quantum relativity as a generalized, or rather deformed, version
of Einstein (special) relativity has been taking shape in recent years.
Following the perspective of deformations, while staying within the framework
of Lie algebra, we implement explicitly a simple linear realization of the
relativity symmetry, and explore systematically the resulting physical
interpretations. Some suggestions we make may sound radical, but are arguably
natural within the context of our formulation. Our work may provide a new
perspective on the subject matter, complementary to the previous approach(es),

Reciprocal Recommender System for Learners in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
Massive open online courses (MOOC) describe platforms where users with
completely different backgrounds subscribe to various courses on offer. MOOC
forums and discussion boards offer learners a medium to communicate with each
other and maximize their learning outcomes. However, oftentimes learners are
hesitant to approach each other for different reasons (being shy, don't know
the right match, etc.). In this paper, we propose a reciprocal recommender
system which matches learners who are mutually interested in, and likely to
communicate with each other based on their profile attributes like age,
location, gender, qualification, interests, etc. We test our algorithm on data
sampled using the publicly available MITx-Harvardx dataset and demonstrate that
both attribute importance and reciprocity play an important role in forming the
final recommendation list of learners. Our approach provides promising results
