    New Particles from Belle

    I report recent results on hidden charm spectroscopy from Belle. These include: observation of a near-threshold enhancement in the omega-J/psi invariant mass distribution for exclusive B-->K omega J/psi decays; evidence for the decay X(3872)-->pi+pi-pi0 J/psi, where the pi+pi-pi0 invariant mass distribution has a strong peak between 750 MeV and the kinematic limit of 775 MeV, suggesting that the process is dominated by the sub-threshold decay X-->omega J/psi; and the observation of a peak near 3940 MeV in the J/psi recoil mass spectrum for the inclusive continuum process e+e- --> J/psi X. The results are based on a study of a 287 fb-1 sample of e+e- annihilation data collected at center- of-mass energies around the Upsilon(4S) in the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.Comment: 10 pages 12 figures.     Angular analysis of B0→K∗(892)0ℓ+ℓ−B^0 \to K^\ast(892)^0 \ell^+ \ell^-

    We present a measurement of angular observables, P4â€ČP_4', P5â€ČP_5', P6â€ČP_6', P8â€ČP_8', in the decay B0→K∗(892)0ℓ+ℓ−B^0 \to K^\ast(892)^0 \ell^+ \ell^-, where ℓ+ℓ−\ell^+\ell^- is either e+e−e^+e^- or ÎŒ+Ό−\mu^+\mu^-. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb−1711~\mathrm{fb}^{-1} containing 772×106772\times 10^{6} BBˉB\bar B pairs, collected at the ΄(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e−e^+e^- collider KEKB. Four angular observables, P4,5,6,8â€ČP_{4,5,6,8}' are extracted in five bins of the invariant mass squared of the lepton system, q2q^2. We compare our results for P4,5,6,8â€ČP_{4,5,6,8}' with Standard Model predictions including the q2q^2 region in which the LHCb collaboration reported the so-called P5â€ČP_5' anomaly.Comment: Conference paper for LHC Ski 2016.     Measurements of the D-sJ resonance properties

    We report measurements of the properties of the D-sJ(+)(2317) and D-sJ(+)(2457) resonances produced in continuum e(+)e(-) annihilation near roots=10.6 GeV. The analysis is based on an 86.9 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. We determine the masses to be M(D-sJ(+)(2317))=2317.2+/-0.5(stat)+/-0.9(syst) MeV/c(2) and M(D-sJ(+)(2457))=2456.5+/-1.3(stat)+/-1.3(syst) MeV/c(2). We observe the radiative decay mode D-sJ(+)(2457)-->D(s)(+)gamma and the dipion decay mode D-sJ(+)(2457)-->D(s)(+)pi(+)pi(-) and determine their branching fractions. No corresponding decays are observed for the D-sJ(2317) state. These results are consistent with the spin-parity assignments of 0(+) for the D-sJ(2317) and 1(+) for the D-sJ(2457)

    We present the results of a study of the charmless vector-vector decay B+->rho K-+(*0), based on 253 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We obtain the branching fraction B(B+->rho K-+(*0))=[8.9 +/- 1.7(stat)+/- 1.2(syst)]x10(-6). We also perform a helicity analysis of the rho and K-* vector mesons, and obtain the longitudinal polarization fraction f(L)(B+->rho K-+(*0))=0.43 +/- 0.11(stat)(-0.02)(+0.05)(syst)

    Measurement of polarization and triple-product correlations in B -> phi K-* decays

    We present measurements of decay amplitudes and triple-product correlations in B ->phi K-* decays based on 253 fb(-1) of data recorded at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) storage ring. The decay amplitudes for the three different helicity states are determined from the angular distributions of final-state particles. The longitudinal polarization amplitudes are found to be 0.45 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.02 for B-0->phi K-*0 and 0.52 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.03 for B+->phi K*+ decays. CP- and T-odd CP-violating triple-product asymmetries are measured to be consistent with zero

    Evidence for direct CP violation in B-0 -> K+pi(-) decays

    We report evidence for direct CP violation in the decay B-0-->K(+)pi(-) with 253 fb(-1) of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. Using 275x10(6) B(B) over bar pairs we observe a B-->K(+/-)pi(-/+) signal with 2140+/-53 events. The measured CP violating asymmetry is A(CP)(K(+)pi(-))=-0.101+/-0.025(stat)+/-0.005(syst), corresponding to a significance of 3.9sigma including systematics. We also search for CP violation in the decays B+-->K(+)pi(0) and B+-->pi(+)pi(0). The measured CP violating asymmetries are A(CP)(K(+)pi(0))=0.04+/-0.05(stat)+/-0.02(syst) and A(CP)(pi(+)pi(0))=-0.02+/-0.10(stat)+/-0.01(syst), corresponding to the intervals -0.05< A(CP)(K(+)pi(0))<0.13 and -0.18< A(CP)(pi(+)pi(0))<0.14 at 90% confidence level

    Observation of B+ -> Lambda(Lambda)over-barK(+)

    We report the first observation of the charmless hyperonic B decay, B+-->Lambda(Lambda) over barK(+), using a 140 fb(-1) data sample recorded at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. The measured branching fraction is B(B+-->Lambda(Lambda) over barK(+))=(2.91(-0.70)(+0.90)+/-0.38)x10(-6). We also perform a search for the related decay mode B+-->Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(+), but do not find a significant signal. We set a 90% confidence-level upper limit of B(B+-->Lambda(Lambda) over bar pi(+))<2.8x10(-6)

    Measurement of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar using inclusive B -> X(u)l nu decays with a novel X-u-reconstruction method

    We report the measurement of an inclusive partial branching fraction for charmless semileptonic B decay and the extraction of \V-ub\. Candidates for B-->X-u.nu are identified with a novel X-u reconstruction method based on neutrino reconstruction via missing 4-momentum and a technique called "simulated annealing." Based on 86.9 fb(-1) of data taken with the Belle detector, we obtain DeltaB(B-->X-u.nu;M-X8.0 GeV2/c(2))=[7.37+/-0.89(stat)+/-1.12(syst)+/-0.55(b-->c)+/-0.24(b-->u)]x10(-4) and determine \V-ub\=[4.66+/-0.28(stat)+/-0.35(syst)+/-0.17(b-->c)+/-0.08(b-->u)+/-0.58(theory)]x10(-3)
