One-parameter family of closed, radiation-filled Friedmann-Robertson-Walker ``quantum'' universes
Using as an illustrative example the p=1 operator-ordered Wheeler-DeWitt
equation for a closed, radiation-filled Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe, we
introduce and discuss the supersymmetric double Darboux method in quantum

Supersymmetric partners of the trigonometric Poschl-Teller potentials
The first and second-order supersymmetry transformations are used to generate
Hamiltonians with known spectra departing from the trigonometric Poschl-Teller
potentials. The several possibilities of manipulating the initial spectrum are
fully explored, and it is shown how to modify one or two levels, or even to
leave the spectrum unaffected. The behavior of the new potentials at the

Wronskian formula for confluent second-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics
The confluent second-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics, for which the
factorization energies tend to a single value, is studied. We show that the
Wronskian formula remains valid if generalized eigenfunctions are taken as seed
solutions. The confluent algorithm is used to generate SUSY partners of the

Radio Frequency Compatibility of an RFID Tag on Glideslope Navigation Receivers
A process is demonstrated to show compatibility between a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag and an aircraft glideslope (GS) radio receiver. The particular tag chosen was previously shown to have significant peak spurious emission levels that far exceeded the emission limits in the GS aeronautical band. The spurious emissions are emulated in the study by capturing the RFID fundamental transmission and playing back the signal in the GS band. The signal capturing and playback are achieved with a vector signal generator and a spectrum analyzer that can output the in-phase and quadrature components (IQ). The simulated interference signal is combined with a desired GS signal before being injected into a GS receiver s antenna port for interference threshold determination. Minimum desired propagation loss values to avoid interference are then computed and compared against actual propagation losses for several aircraft
Exponential Formulae and Effective Operations
One of standard methods to predict the phenomena of squeezing consists in splitting the unitary evolution operator into the product of simpler operations. The technique, while mathematically general, is not so simple in applications and leaves some pragmatic problems open. We report an extended class of exponential formulae, which yield a quicker insight into the laboratory details for a class of squeezing operations, and moreover, can be alternatively used to programme different type of operations, as: (1) the free evolution inversion; and (2) the soft simulations of the sharp kicks (so that all abstract results involving the kicks of the oscillator potential, become realistic laboratory prescriptions)
Geometric Phases and Mielnik's Evolution Loops
The cyclic evolutions and associated geometric phases induced by
time-independent Hamiltonians are studied for the case when the evolution
operator becomes the identity (those processes are called {\it evolution
loops}). We make a detailed treatment of systems having equally-spaced energy
levels. Special emphasis is made on the potentials which have the same spectrum
as the harmonic oscillator potential (the generalized oscillator potentials)

Comment on "Consistency, amplitudes, and probabilities in quantum theory"
In a recent article [Phys. Rev. A 57, 1572 (1998)] Caticha has concluded that
``nonlinear variants of quantum mechanics are inconsistent.'' In this note we
identify what it is that nonlinear quantum theories have been shown to be

Riccati parameter modes from Newtonian free damping motion by supersymmetry
We determine the class of damped modes \tilde{y} which are related to the
common free damping modes y by supersymmetry. They are obtained by employing
the factorization of Newton's differential equation of motion for the free
damped oscillator by means of the general solution of the corresponding Riccati
equation together with Witten's method of constructing the supersymmetric
partner operator. This procedure leads to one-parameter families of (transient)
modes for each of the three types of free damping, corresponding to a
particular type of %time-dependent angular frequency. %time-dependent,
antirestoring acceleration (adding up to the usual Hooke restoring
acceleration) of the form a(t)=\frac{2\gamma ^2}{(\gamma t+1)^{2}}\tilde{y},
where \gamma is the family parameter that has been chosen as the inverse of the
Riccati integration constant. In supersymmetric terms, they represent all those

Magnetic operations: a little fuzzy physics?
We examine the behaviour of charged particles in homogeneous, constant and/or
oscillating magnetic fields in the non-relativistic approximation. A special
role of the geometric center of the particle trajectory is elucidated. In
quantum case it becomes a 'fuzzy point' with non-commuting coordinates, an
element of non-commutative geometry which enters into the traditional control
problems. We show that its application extends beyond the usually considered
time independent magnetic fields of the quantum Hall effect. Some simple cases
of magnetic control by oscillating fields lead to the stability maps differing
