Simulation of Complex Installment Schedule
The aim of this thesis is to examine relations from the field of financial mathematics concerning consumer and cash loans. Further objects of interest are various types of loan repaying, interest calculation and generating the installment schedule. The result of this mathemetical principles analysis is a complex simulator of installment schedule which was created for testing and configuration purposes in HCI company (Home Credit International).
Dynamic Decoder for Speech Recognition
Výstupem této práce je funkční a značně optimalizovaná implementace dynamického dekodéru, která funguje na principu dynamického generování rozpoznávací sítě a dekódování modifikovaným algoritmem Token Passing. Implementované řešení poskytuje srovnatelné výsledky se vzorovým statickým dekodérem z BSCORE (API firmy Phonexia), přičemž přináší výraznou paměťovou úsporu, která umožňuje využití více komplexních jazykových modelů a usnadňuje integraci do mobilních zařízení či dynamické přidávání nových slov do rozpoznávače.The result of this work is a fully working and significantly optimized implementation of a dynamic decoder. This decoder is based on dynamic recognition network generation and decoding by a modified version of the Token Passing algorithm. The implemented solution provides very similar results to the original static decoder from BSCORE (API of Phonexia company). Compared to BSCORE this implementation offers significant reduction of memory usage. This makes use of more complex language models possible. It also facilitates integration the speech recognition to some mobile devices or dynamic adding of new words to the system.
Critical Oscillation Constant for Difference Equations with Almost Periodic Coefficients
We investigate a type of the Sturm-Liouville difference equations with almost periodic coefficients. We prove that there exists a constant, which is the borderline between the oscillation and the nonoscillation of these equations. We compute this oscillation constant explicitly. If the almost periodic coefficients are replaced by constants, our result reduces to the well-known result about the discrete Euler equation
Oscillation and non-oscillation criterion for Riemann–Weber type half-linear differential equations
By the combination of the modified half-linear Prüfer method and the Riccati technique, we study oscillatory properties of half-linear differential equations. Taking into account the transformation theory of half-linear equations and using some known results, we show that the analysed equations in the Riemann–Weber form with perturbations in both terms are conditionally oscillatory. Within the process, we identify the critical oscillation values of their coefficients and, consequently, we decide when the considered equations are oscillatory and when they are non-oscillatory. As a direct corollary of our main result, we solve the so-called critical case for a certain type of half-linear non-perturbed equations
Personalized heating – Comparison of heaters and control modes
AbstractPersonalized conditioning systems represent a promising solution to two major challenges in building industry – high energy consumption of the buildings and still only mediocre thermal comfort. These systems create a microenvironment adapted for each user. Therefore, individual demands for thermal comfort can be met and energy can be saved due to higher effectiveness compared to the traditional HVAC systems. This study investigates two aspects of personalized heating – effectiveness of different heaters and impact of different control modes. Personalized heating system consisting of a heated chair, a heated desk mat, and a heated floor mat was tested with 13 test subjects in a climate chamber under operative temperature of 18 °C. The heaters were tested separately and in combination as user controlled. Furthermore, the complete system was tested with fixed setting and automatic control using hand skin temperature as a control signal. The heated chair and the heated desk mat as well as the complete system significantly improved thermal comfort, while the heated chair was found to the most effective heater. The automatic control mode could provide the same level of thermal comfort as user control in this study
