Manual de convivencia entre discursos de formación y los relatos de vivir con otros

    Get PDF
The present research finds out on the ways the modern educational institutions promote co-existence among students bv means of the Dwelling Together Manual. It also considers the ways in which students perceive, adapt and take a distance from one another, and offers altematives respecting the institucional attempts to provide an integral education. There are two areas, the institutional standards, and the ways students perceive, implement and set settings, and the result is in a wide diversity of productions respecting education. These settings are against one another, and in other ways complement each other. Is in this field of tensión where, in my opinión, a deep reflection on pedagogical procedures must be given. Thus, "education" is understood in a different way to that of a transmission of valúes to those in need of them: Mostly, education is seen from the angle of the general conceptions (freedom, autonomy, responsibility); for that reason, this research conceives education as practices of difference: That way the exerdse of reflection is completect, when the point of view of students is taken into account, from the setting of particular situations (for instance, the incorporation of the concept of the "body" the ways of sha ring together, the groups that try to be together, and the resulting accounts of the things that usually occur).Licenciado (a) en Educación Básica con Énfasis en Humanidades y Lengua CastellanaPregrad

We study straight-line drawings of planar graphs with few segments and few slopes. Optimal results are obtained for all trees. Tight bounds are obtained for outerplanar graphs, 2-trees, and planar 3-trees. We prove that every 3-connected plane graph on nn vertices has a plane drawing with at most 5/2n{5/2}n segments and at most 2n2n slopes. We prove that every cubic 3-connected plane graph has a plane drawing with three slopes (and three bends on the outerface). In a companion paper, drawings of non-planar graphs with few slopes are also considered.Comment: This paper is submitted to a journal. A preliminary version appeared as "Really Straight Graph Drawings" in the Graph Drawing 2004 conference. See http://arxiv.org/math/0606446 for a companion pape

Giant conductivity switching of LaAlO3/SrTiO3 heterointerfaces governed by surface protonation

Complex-oxide interfaces host a diversity of phenomena not present in traditional semiconductor heterostructures. Despite intense interest, many basic questions remain about the mechanisms that give rise to interfacial conductivity and the role of surface chemistry in dictating these properties. Here we demonstrate a fully reversible >4 order of magnitude conductance change at LaAlO3/SrTiO3 (LAO/STO) interfaces, regulated by LAO surface protonation. Nominally conductive interfaces are rendered insulating by solvent immersion, which deprotonates the hydroxylated LAO surface; interface conductivity is restored by exposure to light, which induces reprotonation via photocatalytic oxidation of adsorbed water. The proposed mechanisms are supported by a coordinated series of electrical measurements, optical/solvent exposures, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. This intimate connection between LAO surface chemistry and LAO/STO interface physics bears far-reaching implications for reconfigurable oxide nanoelectronics and raises the possibility of novel applications in which electronic properties of these materials can be locally tuned using synthetic chemistry

Multimerization of Zika Virus-NS5 Causes Ciliopathy and Forces Premature Neurogenesis

Zika virus (ZikV) is a flavivirus that infects neural tissues, causing congenital microcephaly. ZikV has evolved multiple mechanisms to restrict proliferation and enhance cell death, although the underlying cellular events involved remain unclear. Here we show that the ZikV-NS5 protein interacts with host proteins at the base of the primary cilia in neural progenitor cells, causing an atypical non-genetic ciliopathy and premature neuron delamination. Furthermore, in human microcephalic fetal brain tissue, ZikV-NS5 persists at the base of the motile cilia in ependymal cells, which also exhibit a severe ciliopathy. Although the enzymatic activity of ZikV-NS5 appears to be dispensable, the amino acids Y25, K28, and K29 that are involved in NS5 oligomerization are essential for localization and interaction with components of the cilium base, promoting ciliopathy and premature neurogenesis. These findings lay the foundation for therapies that target ZikV-NS5 multimerization and prevent the developmental malformations associated with congenital Zika syndrome. The work in E.M.’s laboratory was supported by grants BFU2016-77498-P, BFU2016-77498-P, and La Maratò de TV3 foundation 201833-10. Extensive antimicrobial resistance mobilization via Multicopy Plasmid Encapsidation mediated by temperate phages

Objectives: To investigate the relevance of multicopy plasmids in antimicrobial resistance and assess their mobilization mediated by phage particles Methods: Several databases with complete sequences of plasmids and annotated genes were analysed. The 16S methyltransferase gene armA conferring high-level aminoglycoside resistance was used as a marker in eight different plasmids, from different incompatibility groups, and with differing sizes and plasmid copy numbers. All plasmids were transformed into Escherichia coli bearing one of four different lysogenic phages. Upon induction, encapsidation of armA in phage particles was evaluated using qRT-PCR and Southern blotting. Results: Multicopy plasmids carry a vast set of emerging clinically important antimicrobial resistance genes. However, 60% of these plasmids do not bear mobility (MOB) genes. When carried on these multicopy plasmids, mobilization of a marker gene armA into phage capsids was up to 10000 times more frequent than when it was encoded by a large plasmid with a low copy number. Conclusions: Multicopy plasmids and phages, two major mobile genetic elements (MGE) in bacteria, represent a novel high-efficiency transmission route of antimicrobial resistance genes that deserves further investigation

Cooperative Electronic and Structural Regulation in a Bioinspired Allosteric Photoredox Catalyst

    Get PDF
Herein, we report the first allosteric photoredox catalyst regulated via constructively coupled structural and electronic control. While often synergistically exploited in nature, these two types of control mechanisms have only been applied independently in the vast majority of allosteric enzyme mimics and receptors in the literature. By embedding a model of photosystem II in a supramolecular coordination complex that responds to chloride as an allosteric effector, we show that distance and electronic control of light harvesting can be married to maximize allosteric regulation of catalytic activity. This biomimetic system is composed of a Bodipy photoantenna, which is capable of transferring excited-state energy to a photoredox pair, wherein the excitation energy is used to generate a catalytically active charge-separated state. The structural aspect of allosteric regulation is achieved by toggling the coordination chemistry of an antenna-functionalized hemilabile ligand via partial displacement from a RhI structual node using chloride. In doing so, the distance between the antenna and the central photoredox catalyst is increased, lowering the inherent efficiency of through-space energy transfer. At the same time, coordination of chloride lowers both the charge of the Rh^I node and the reduction potential of the Rh^(II/I) couple, to the extent that electronic quenching of the antenna excited state is possible via photoinduced electron transfer from the metal center. Compared to a previously developed system that operates solely via electronic regulation, the present system demonstrates that coupling electronic and structural approaches to allosteric regulation gives rise to improved switching ratios between catalytically active and inactive states. Contributions from both structural and electronic control mechanisms are probed via nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction, electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and transient absorption studies. Overall, this work establishes that intertwined electronic and structural regulatory mechanisms can be borrowed from nature to build stimuli-responsive inorganic materials with potential applications in sensing, catalysis, and photonic devices

Non-covalent allosteric regulation of capsule catalysis

    Get PDF
Allosteric regulation is an essential biological process that allows enzymes to modulate their active site properties by binding a control molecule at the protein exterior. Here we show the first example of capsule catalysis in which activity is changed by exotopic binding. This study utilizes a simple Pd(2)L(4) capsule that can partition substrates and external effectors with high fidelity. We also present a detailed, quantitative understanding of how effector interactions alter both substrate and transition state binding. Unlike other allosteric host systems, perturbations are not a consequence of large mechanical changes, rather subtle electronic effects resulting from weak, non-covalent binding to the exterior surface. This investigation paves the way to more sophisticated allosteric systems
