    Crystalline Silicate Feature of the Vega-like star HD145263

    We have observed the 8-13 μ\mum spectrum (R\sim250) of the Vega-like star candidate HD145263 using Subaru/COMICS. The spectrum of HD145263 shows the broad trapezoidal silicate feature with the shoulders at 9.3 μ\mum and 11.44 μ\mum, indicating the presence of crystalline silicate grains. This detection implies that crystalline silicate may also be commonly present around Vega-like stars. The 11.44 μ\mum feature is slightly shifted to a longer wavelength compared to the usual 11.2-3 μ\mum crystalline forsterite feature detected toward Herbig Ae/Be stars and T Tauri stars. Although the peak shift due to the effects of the grain size can not be ruled out, we suggest that Fe-bearing crystalline olivine explains the observed peak wavelength fairly well. Fe-bearing silicates are commonly found in meteorites and most interplanetary dust particles, which originate from planetesimal-like asteroids. According to studies of meteorites, Fe-bearing silicate must have been formed in asteroidal planetesimals, supporting the scenario that dust grains around Vega-like stars are of planetesimal origin, if the observed 11.44 μ\mum peak is due to Fe-bearing silicates.Comment: accepted for Publication in ApJ

    SDSS J133401.39+331534.3: A New Subarcsecond Gravitationally Lensed Quasar

    The quasar SDSS J133401.39+331534.3 at z = 2.426 is found to be a two-image gravitationally lensed quasar with the image separation of 0.833. The object is first identified as a lensed quasar candidate in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Quasar Lens Search, and then confirmed as a lensed system from follow-up observations at the Subaru and University of Hawaii 2.2-meter telescopes. We estimate the redshift of the lensing galaxy to be 0.557 based on absorption lines in the quasar spectra as well as the color of the galaxy. In particular, we observe the system with the Subaru Telescope AO188 adaptive optics with laser guide star, in order to derive accurate astrometry, which well demonstrates the usefulness of the laser guide star adaptive optics imaging for studying strong lens systems. Our mass modeling with improved astrometry implies that a nearby bright galaxy 4"\sim 4" apart from the lensing galaxy is likely to affect the lens potential.Comment: 24 pages, 6 figures.     Comparative studies to determine the selective inhibitors for P-glycoprotein and cytochrome P 4503A4

    It has been suggested that cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and MDR1 P-glycoprotein (P-gp) act synergistically to limit the bioavailability of orally administered agents. In order to determine the relative role of these proteins, it is essential to identify a selective inhibitor for either P-gp or CYP3A4. In the present investigation, comparative studies were performed to examine the effect of inhibitors on the function of these proteins. The IC50 of P-gp function, determined by examining the inhibition of the transcellular transport of vinblastine across Caco-2 monolayers, was in the order PSC833 ≪ ketoconazole, verapamil ≪ N-(2(R)-hydroxy-1(S)-indanyl)-5-(2(S)-(1,1-dimethylethylaminocarbonyl)-4-(furo(2,3-b)pyridin-5-yl) methyl)piperazin-1-yl)-4(S)-hydroxy-2(R)-phenylmethylpentanamide (L-754,394). In contrast, the IC50 of CYP3A4 function, determined by examining the inhibition of the metabolism of midazolam by intestinal and liver microsomes, was in the order L-754,384 ≪ketoconazole≪ PSC 833 and verapamil. The ratio of IC50 for P-gp to that for CYP3A4 was more than 200 for L-754,394,60 ∼ 150 for ketoconazole, 1.5 for verapamil, and 0.05 for PSC 833. Collectively, it was demonstrated that PSC 833 and L-754,394 can be used as selective inhibitors of P-gp and CYP3A4, respectively

    著者版若年性関節リウマチ(JRA)に対する人工股関節再置換術(revision) について検討した.対象は,revisionを施行した3例5関節(全例男性,手術時平均年齢30歳)で,平均経過観察期間は6.0年,revision施行理由は機械的なTHAおよび人工骨頭の弛みが4関節,ポリエチレンライナーの脱転が1関節であった.1)臨床評価は日整会スコアが術前平均38点から70点に改善し,股関節可動域は屈曲が術前平均65°から95°へ,外転は術前平均15°から25°へ改善した.2)X線評価ではlooseningは認めず,clear zoneはsocket側では全例で認めず,stem側ではセメント使用の2関節の正面像でzone 1とzone 7に若干のclear lineを認めた.3)RAのclass分類では術前class IIIであった2例がclass IIへ改善していた.以上,JRAに対するrevisionでは骨量温存に努め,人工骨頭の耐久性を最も重視すべきだと考えられた
