 This thesis focused on the figure of the goddess within Scottish Highland Gaelic folk tales, namely the Cailleach Bheara. I examined her position in modern literature and film, engaging in discussions of ecofeminism, the preservation and understanding of Gaelic culture and the importance of strong female characters

Using digital assessment booklets to improve learning, teaching and assessment in the creative arts at Ayrshire College

Richard Scott, a Creative Arts Lecturer at Ayrshire College has been looking for ways to improve assessment results by helping students take more control of their learning and engage more with it. He also wanted to find ways to reduce staff time spent on marking, so that they could free up more time for the teaching process. This case study explores an interactive digital assessment booklet he has developed to help address these challenges, how he designed the booklet and the response from students, staff and management to it.
