Pictorial Preferences of Adults as Primary Intermediaries in the Contact Between a Child and an Illustration/Literary Illustration - Empirical Perspective

    Get PDF
The presented text is the result of reflections on the issue of perceiving visual messages which are an illustration of the content of printed text by adults as primary recipients of book illustrations addressed to children of pre-reading age. The article contains reflections on the pictorial character of our environment, it presents the underlying assumptions of the strategy of recognizing image preferences related to book illustration and trends in the preferences of adult intermediaries in the area of book illustration in the aspect of areas of image realization and artistic quality recognized as the dominant elements of imaging. The article concludes with final reflections focused on the quality and value of observations in the context of a visual image in the form of a book illustration

Profile of Illustration in Children’s Literature Books Based on the Image Preferences of the Youngest Readers

The presented paper is a result of research conducted on the issue of visual communication as an art supplement and explanation of printed content. The publication begins with a reflection on visual culture illustrating its polysemic character and referring to the iconic nature of images. Further, the paper describes the art of illustration and the value of visual communication in the form of book illustration. The last part of the paper attempts to present the structure of a well-designed illustration in the form of profiles, constructed on the basis of picture tendencies appear in a group of pre-readers

In Search of Tools for the Valorization of Children’s Artistic Creation in the Field of Imaging and the Results of the Creative Process – A Theoretical and Model Approach

The presented text is the result of reflection on the issue of children’s artwork and the procedure of valuing the work of children at a younger school age in the process of art education. The article outlines considerations on creativity and children’s art creation in the context/conceptual context and attempts to present a procedure for the evaluation of children’s art creations in terms of the ways of imaging in the conceptual context. The study is addressed to researchers and teachers of early childhood education, it is also a voice in the discussion on evaluating student achievements and – according to the author – a stimulus for reflective educational activities

ISOMORPHIC SIGNAL ENSEMBLES AND THEIR APPLICATION IN ASYNC-ADDRESS SYSTEMS

The object of consideration is async-address systems using code division of subscribers. The subject of the analysis is quasi-orthogonal ensembles of signals based on code sequences that have normalized characteristics of cross-correlation functions (CCF) and provide reliable separation of subscribers (objects) when exposed to imitation and signal-like interference. The purpose of the analysis is to create a model and methodology for construction a set of the best code sequences ensembles having the ability to quickly change the instance of the set to counter imitation and signal-like interference. The solution is based on algebraic models of code sequences and their CCF representation. The article proposes a comprehensive technique to construct signal ensembles set having normalized characteristics of the CCF. The quality of the primary ensemble of code sequences is ensured by the procedure for calculating the CCF optimized in the number of look over options. Optimization is based on the basic properties of the Galois field, in particular, on the Galois fields’ isomorphism property. It provides a significant reduction in calculations when choosing the primary ensemble of code sequences with the specified properties of the CCF. The very choice of the best (largest in size) code sequences ensemble relies on the solution of one of the classical combinatorics problems – searching for maximal clique on a graph. The construction of signals ensembles set having normalized characteristics of the CCF is ensured by the use of special combinatorial procedures and algorithms based on the multiplicative properties of Galois fields. An analysis of the effectiveness of known and proven procedures searching for maximal clique is also performed in this article. The work results will be useful in the design of infocommunication systems using complex signals with a large base and variable structure to provide protection from signal structure research and the effects of imitation and signal-like interferenc

У статті детально висвітлено діяльність українських геральдичних та генеалогічних інституцій діаспори DP-періоду – Української родовідної установи й Інституту родознавства та знаменознавства, які функціонували в 1946-1948 рр. на території Західної Німеччини (The article presents the activity of Ukrainian heraldic and genealogical institutions of the Diaspora in the DP-period, – the Ukrainian Genealogy Group and Institute of Genealogy and Heraldry – which functioned during 1946–1948 in West Germany. The Ukrainian Genealogy Group had several objectives: to find and preserve genealogical records and to publish the periodical The Generation and Banner. The practical activity of the Institute of Genealogy and Heraldry during 1946–1948 was focused on designing family coats of arms for the members of the Institute as well as for the members of other Ukrainian research institutions. Thus, having taken all aspects of activity of European heraldry societies into consideration, Ukrainian scholars demonstrated their desire to actively cooperate. The Ukrainian Genealogy Group and Institute of Genealogy and Heraldry organized a conference and published the first volume of «Notes», which included articles of the following conference participants: Mykola Bytynskyi, Oleksandr Ohloblyn, Mykhailo Miller and Viacheslav Seniutovych-Berezhnyi
