Identification of Research gaps on Municipal Solid Waste Management from Data Indexed in the SCOPUS Database
This study aimed to identify the research gaps on the theme "Municipal Solid Waste Management", as from the analysis of articles indexed in the SCOPUS database. For this objective to be achieved, an applied research of exploratory nature and qualitative approach was carried out. It is noteworthy that, as method and technical procedures were adopted, respectively, the bibliographic research and the literature review. It is noteworthy that as a selection criterion, thirty papers indexed in this base that presented the highest number of citations were analyzed. As main results, it can be highlighted that the identified gaps were grouped into eight categories. Among the categories analyzed, one can highlight life cycle assessment, with ten gaps, and tools for municipal solid waste management, with eight. It is also noteworthy that the category "municipal solid waste management associated with other methodologies" occupies the second position, along with "tools for the management of municipal solid waste, indicating the lack of studies in the highlighted areas and pointing out the relevance of the theme for the academic environ
DETERMINANTS OF INTENT TO PURCHASE ORGANIC PRODUCTS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE
Concerns about food quality and safety have grown as cases of disease and food-related scandals increase. To mitigate this problem, organic products have been a solution, as their certification is provided through processes that are less harmful to the environment and consumer health. To understand the main motivations of consumers of organic products, the objective of this study is to demonstrate whether the statistical values of the predictor variables (health concern, signaling trust, and attitude) confirm their purchase intention (dependent variable). To carry out this research, the survey method was used, applying a questionnaire with open and closed questions to 288 respondents, supporting the elaboration of a structural model based on four hypotheses, which were confirmed through statistical calculations. As for the contribution, this work supports the alignment of expectations and preferences of the members of the production chain of organic products

How Is Building Sustainability Understood?-A Study of Research Papers and Sustainability Reports
The global process of providing shelter plays an important role in sustainable development. Buildings are estimated to be responsible for up to 50% of global carbon emissions, which makes building a major issue for climate change. The common saying is that what "we cannot measure, we cannot improve". This assumes that we know what to measure, which requires that we have a common understanding. The indication is that there could be problems in how we understand building sustainability, which, if true, will reduce change towards sustainable building. The purpose of this paper is to assess how building sustainability is understood in building research and building practice. The research approach is to review how building researchers and building companies have interpreted sustainability in leading articles and in leading sustainability reports. These are assessed by studying how sustainability is described and then in more detail applying two maturity matrices on the articles and the reports. The preliminary results indicate that there could be a major problem in understanding sustainability among both building researchers and building company managers, which could constitute a significant obstacle to improving building sustainability. This might not only be related to building sustainability but could be a general problem

Guidelines to build the bridge between sustainability and integrated management systems: A way to increase stakeholder engagement toward sustainable development
The balanced development and management of sustainability demands the alignment of Corporate Sustainability (CS) strategy with management systems so that sustainability can be effectively inserted into all organizational levels and thus promote stakeholder engagement. Therefore, to support the development of CS, the structure, processes, indicators, and instructions of Integrated Management System (IMS) can be used. This study aims to propose guidelines for the alignment of CS and IMS, based on the cross analysis of seven case studies. This objective was achieved through the identification of elements that can positively or negatively impact the alignment of CS with the IMS, which served as the basis for proposing the guidelines to build a bridge for CS development from the IMS. This work brought as a scientific contribution the upgrade of the block of knowledge on the contributions between IMS and CS, bringing some validation of knowledge from scientific articles in the real context of industrial companies, and additions and refinements to the state of the art on the subject. In addition, the applied contribution of the results stands out, which will provide managers with a framework to intervene in organizations with structural modifications that will make them greener, socially appropriate and more profitable, thus promoting the achievement of the global goals of sustainable development proposed in Agenda 2030
