Coalescence of Rotating Black Holes on Eguchi-Hanson Space

We obtain new charged rotating multi-black hole solutions on the Eguchi-Hanson space in the five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell system with a Chern-Simons term and a positive cosmological constant. In the two-black holes case, these solutions describe the coalescence of two rotating black holes with the spatial topologies of S^3 into a single rotating black hole with the spatial topology of the lens space S^3/Z_2. We discuss the differences in the horizon areas between our solutions and the two-centered Klemm-Sabra solutions which describe the coalescence of two rotating black holes with the spatial topologies of S^3 into a single rotating black hole with the spatial topology of S^3.Comment: 20 pages, 9 figure

Extremal Charged Black Holes with a Twisted Extra Dimension

We construct odd-dimensional extremal charged black hole solutions with a twisted S^1 as an extra dimension on generalized Euclidean Taub-NUT spaces. There exists a null hypersurface where an expansion for an outgoing null geodesic congruence vanishes, then these spacetimes look like black holes. We show that the metrics admit C^0 extension across the horizon, but some components of Riemann curvature diverge there if the dimension is higher than five. The singularity is not much strong so that an observer along a free-fall geodesic can traverse the horizon. We also show solutions with a positive cosmological constant.Comment: 21 pages, no figure, v2 added reference

    Charged rotating Kaluza-Klein multi-black holes and multi-black strings in five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory

We construct exact solutions, which represent regular charged rotating Kaluza-Klein multi-black holes in the five-dimensional pure Einstein-Maxwell theory. Quantization conditions between the mass, the angular momentum, and charges appear from the regularity condition of horizon. We also obtain multi-black string solutions by taking some limits in the solutions. We extend the black hole solutions to the five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with an arbitrary Chern-Simons coupling constant.Comment: 14 pages. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1206.481

Topology Changing Process of Coalescing Black Holes on Eguchi-Hanson Space

We numerically study the event horizons of two kinds of five-dimensional coalescing black hole solutions with different asymptotic structures: the five-dimensional Kastor-Traschen solution (5DKT) and the coalescing black hole solution on Eguchi-Hanson space (CBEH). Topologies of the spatial infinity are S3{\rm S}^3 and L(2;1)=S3/Z2L(2;1)={\rm S}^3/{\mathbb Z}_2, respectively. We show that the crease sets of event horizons are topologically R1{\rm R}^1 in 5DKT and R1×S1{\rm R}^1\times {\rm S}^1 in CBEH, respectively. If we choose the time slices which respect space-time symmetry, the first contact points of the coalescing process is a point in the 5DKT case but a S1{\rm S}^1 in the CBEH case. We also find that in CBEH, time slices can be chosen so that a black ring with S1×S2{\rm S}^1\times {\rm S}^2 topology can be also formed during a certain intermediate period unlike the 5DKT.Comment: 13 pages, 17 figure
