Entanglement convertibility for infinite dimensional pure bipartite states
It is shown that the order property of pure bipartite states under SLOCC
(stochastic local operations and classical communications) changes radically
when dimensionality shifts from finite to infinite. In contrast to finite
dimensional systems where there is no pure incomparable state, the existence of
infinitely many mutually SLOCC incomparable states is shown for infinite
dimensional systems even under the bounded energy and finite information
exchange condition. These results show that the effect of the infinite
dimensionality of Hilbert space, the ``infinite workspace'' property, remains
even in physically relevant infinite dimensional systems
Chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection as the Pathogenesis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), resulted from tobacco smoking, has an extremely poor prognosis and is a major cause of chronic morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this chapter, we review the role of bacterial infection on the pathogenesis of COPD, with a particular focus on Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Chronic infection with P. aeruginosa has been shown to contribute to COPD pathogenesis under certain conditions. In addition, P. aeruginosa is a major factor influencing severe symptoms, acute exacerbation, and the progression of COPD. Treatment for chronic P. aeruginosa infection may become a new strategy for addressing COPD
Light Higgs boson scenario in the SUSY seesaw model
It is demonstrated that the light Higgs boson scenario, which the lightest
Higgs mass is less than the LEP bound, mh > 114.4 GeV, is consistent with the
SUSY seesaw model. With the assumptions of the universal right-handed neutrino
mass and the hierarchical mass spectrum of the ordinary neutrinos, the bounds
for the right-handed neutrino mass is investigated in terms of lepton flavor
violating charged lepton decays. We also discuss the effect of the modification
of renormalization group equations by the right-handed neutrinos on the b to s
gamma process and the relic abundance of dark matter in the light Higgs boson
scenario.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figure
Testing Lorentz Invariance with a Double-Pass Optical Ring Cavity
We have developed an apparatus to test Lorentz invariance in the photon
sector by measuring the resonant frequency difference between two
counterpropagating directions of an asymmetric optical ring cavity using a
double-pass configuration. No significant evidence for the violation was found
at the level of . Details of our apparatus and
recent results are presented.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure. Presented at the Sixth Meeting on CPT and Lorentz
