Application of "CERDIK" Behavior Model in Schools as an Effort to Improve Diabetes Mellitus Prevention Behavior

The prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus continues to increase every year. Teenagers today cannot be separated from unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, eating fast food, online gaming, and lack of physical activity. The data obtained that 60 to 80 smoker students in Ambon State Aliyah Madrasah which is the work area of ​​the Air Besar Health Center. In the Air Besar Health Center in the past year, there were 207 diabetes mellitus sufferers. The expected outcome and outcome of this Community Service is increasing students' knowledge and skills towards diabetes mellitus with CERDIK behavior in schools. The service method is carried out through education and training through demonstrations. Demonstrations were given related to CERDIK behavior such as how to prevent smoking, how to manage stress, and how to read food packaging labels to reduce sugar consumption. So the results and outcomes obtained are increased knowledge and skills of students as participants of CERDIK behavior in schools. The series of community service activities can be carried out properly according to the plan. And it is expected that the person in charge of the UKS will provide other students with the CERDIK module in the school that has been given and the involvement of the Health Center is running the Non-Communicable Disease program in schools as a continuation of community service

Aktivitas Antibakteri Kain Kasa Terlapisi Tio¬2/ag Amorf, Ag, Dan Kitosan/ag Terhadap Bakteri Gram Negatif Dan Positif (the Antibacterial Activity of Gauze Coated by Tio¬2/ag Amorphous, Ag, and Chitosan/ag Against Gram Negative and Positive Bacteria)

TiO2/Ag amorphous composite has been synthesized by sol gel method in ethanol. This composite was characterized using FTIR and XRD. TiO2/Ag amorphous composite, chitosan/ Ag, and Ag coated in gauze using dip coating method with plating sequence variation. Coated gauze was characterized using XRD and antibacterial test was conducted by optical density at λ 600 nm against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The results showed that coated gauze with the sequence was chitosan/Ag, TiO2/Ag amorphous composite, and Ag was optimum antibacterial power. The inhibition against Escherichia coli was greater than Staphylococcus aureus. The inhibition against Escherichia coli was 98.66% for 24 hours and against Staphylococcus aureus was 71.47% for 24 hours

Basically, all social media have thesame function and purpose that is to be used to communicate with other people. In Indonesiaitself, the biggest social media user is ranged between age 18 until 24 and mostly iscollegian. Collegian use social media for various purposes, such as for communicationbetween friends, for consolation purpose, also for political interaction. The problem that isexamined in this research is about the involvement of the internal organization committeecollegian of FISIP Undip about the USAge of social media for their political interaction.According to that, the writer aims to analyze of how collegian use social media for thepurpose of political interaction. The following result is used to answer the question about thebackground of the collegian to make political interaction in social media. Research resultshows that social media is used more to their general information exchange and as theirentertainment purpose. Social media has not yet to be the main means in conducting politicalinteraction, but rather mere to be complementary. Collegian is not yet depended on socialmedia in getting the following political action, even though it is considered quite effective onthe USAge. By far, social media becomes a medium of political interaction itself. It is advisedthat collegian can be actively involved in online network and is recommended to get morebenefit from the USAge of social media, so that collegian can be more serious in order toimprove the political interaction

Security improvement of using modified coherent state for quantum cryptography

Weak coherent states as a photon source for quantum cryptography have limit in secure data rate and transmission distance because of the presence of multi-photon events and loss in transmission line. Two-photon events in a coherent state can be taken out by a two-photon interference scheme. We investigate the security issue of utilizing this modified coherent state in quantum cryptography. A 4 dB improvement in secure data rate or a nearly two-fold increase in transmission distance over the coherent state are found. With a recently proposed and improved encoding strategy, further improvement is possible.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, to appear in Physical Review

World War I bursted Italy from different perspectives. The one here described under an historical point of view reguards health of military and civil population, with a special focus on infective diseases. The 20th Century was the fuse of degeneration and eugenetics theories; which grew in the meliè of war and technological innovation. Indeed, war is interestingly depicted as an entity capable of blooming the differences between those who wore a uniform and those who do not. As a matter of fact, some infection spared the civilian population while others felt with greater vengeance on this subgroup. Moreover, the incidence of different feared diseases was brought back to the rates of the late 19th Century. Thanks to a statistician, Giorgio Mortara (1885-1967) the impact of infective diseases in Wolrd War I on Italian demography is well established. Moreover, different military and civilian contribute to enrich the picture of the consequences of war. In conclusion World War I could see considered as a litmus paper. The litmus paper of successes and failures of italian public health management to face new medical challenges exacerbated by the crisis
