    Kidney biomarkers appear to be useful in differential diagnosis between Acute Tubular Necrosis (ATN) and other types of AKI in cirrhosis, particularly hepatorenal syndrome (HRS-AKI). Distinction is important because treatment is different. However, kidney biomarkers are still not used in clinical practice.
