THE IMPACT OF RELATIONSHIP MARKETING ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND LOYALTY IN LUXURY HOTELS
The purpose of this paper is to determine the key dimensions of relationship marketing that influence customer satisfaction, as well as the impact of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty in a luxury hotel context. A survey was conducted on a convenience sample of 311 Croatian citizens who stayed in 5-star hotels in the year prior to the study. The research results show that not all dimensions of relationship marketing influence customer satisfaction. Competence, trust, and communication, as relationship marketing dimensions, have a statistically significant impact on customer satisfaction. The findings also suggest that customer satisfaction has a statistically significant influence on customer loyalty. This study contributes to the theory of relationship marketing. In addition, the obtained results have implications for hotel managers seeking to implement relationship marketing strategies to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty
Bioprospecting of Microalgae Isolated from the Adriatic Sea: Characterization of Biomass, Pigment, Lipid and Fatty Acid Composition, and Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activity
Marine microalgae and cyanobacteria are sources of diverse bioactive compounds with potential biotechnological applications in food, feed, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biofuel industries. In this study, five microalgae, Nitzschia sp. S5, Nanofrustulum shiloi D1, Picochlorum sp. D3, Tetraselmis sp. Z3 and Tetraselmis sp. C6, and the cyanobacterium Euhalothece sp. C1 were isolated from the Adriatic Sea and characterized regarding their growth kinetics, biomass composition and specific products content (fatty acids, pigments, antioxidants, neutral and polar lipids). The strain Picochlorum sp. D3, showing the highest specific growth rate (0.009 hā1), had biomass productivity of 33.98 Ā± 0.02 mg Lā1 dayā1. Proteins were the most abundant macromolecule in the biomass (32.83ā57.94%, g gā1). Nanofrustulum shiloi D1 contained significant amounts of neutral lipids (68.36%), while the biomass of Picochlorum sp. D3, Tetraselmis sp. Z3, Tetraselmis sp. C6 and Euhalothece sp. C1 was rich in glycolipids and phospholipids (>75%). The lipids of all studied microalgae predominantly contained unsaturated fatty acids. Carotenoids were the most abundant pigments with the highest content of lutein and neoxanthin in representatives of Chlorophyta and fucoxanthin in strains belonging to the Bacillariophyta. All microalgal extracts showed antioxidant activity and antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative E. coli and S. typhimurium and Gram-positive S. aureus
In vitro biological evaluation of ferrocene conjugates with amino acids Val, Leu and Phe
Strukturna modifikacija nativnih peptida predstavlja uÄinkovit pristup u dizajnu farmakoloÅ”ki aktivnih biomolekula. Konjugiranjem ferocenskih kalupa s aminokiselinama i malim peptidima pripravljaju se visokoureÄeni i bioloÅ”ki aktivni peptidomimetici. U cilju ispitivanja odnosa strukture i bioloÅ”ke aktivnosti peptidomimetika, u ovome radu provedena je in vitro bioloÅ”ka evaluacija dvanaest homo- i heterokiralnih konjugata ferocen-1,1'-diamina s Val (1ā4), Leu (5ā8) i Phe (9ā12) na humanim tumorskim staniÄnim linijama (HeLa, MCF-7 i HepG2). NajveÄu antiproliferativnu aktivnost i toksiÄnost prema svim staniÄnim linijama pokazali su heterokiralni konjugati 2, 4, 6, 8 i 10. Sposobnost indukcije staniÄne smrti i naruÅ”avanje integriteta staniÄne membrane dodatno su ispitani analizom vezanja Annexina V i PI primjenom protoÄne citometrije tijekom 24- i 48-satnog tretmana stanica pri Äemu se najuÄinkovitijim induktorom apoptoze pokazao heterokiralni Phe-peptid 10. Analizom staniÄnog ciklusa utvrÄeni su zastoji unutar G1 ili G2/M faze tijekom 48-satnog tretmana stanica heterokiralnim peptidima 4, 8 i 10, Å”to dodatno ukazuje na njihov antitumorski potencijal.Structural modification of native peptides represents an effective approach for the design of pharmacologically active biomolecules. Highly ordered and biologically active peptidomimetics were prepared by conjugation of the ferrocene scaffold with amino acids and small peptides. In this work, twelve homo- and heterochiral conjugates of ferrocene-1,1'-diamine with Val (1-4), Leu (5-8), and Phe (9-12) were biologically studied in vitro on human tumor cell lines (HeLa, MCF-7 and HepG2). Heterochiral conjugates 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 showed the greatest antiproliferative activity and toxicity to all cell lines. The ability to induce cell death and affect cell membrane integrity was examined by analysis of Annexin V and PI staining using flow cytometry during 24- and 48-hour treatment of cells, with heterochiral Phe-peptide 10 being the most effective in inducing apoptosis. Cell cycle analysis revealed delays within G1 or G2/M phase during 48-hour treatment with heterochiral peptides 4, 8 and 10, providing further evidence of their anticancer potential
