Improving Performance in Core Business Classes

Results from t-test and regression analysis suggests that female and transfer students at RMU do not require additional tutoring but warrant continuous monitoring and readiness to provide extra help if necessary. Age seems to be a less important indicator of academic success for undergraduate than graduate business students. Sequencing of prerequisites and their timing relative to when the core classes are taken does not appear to be important. However, statistically significant regression coefficient for MATH2040 grades more than twice that for MATH1010 grades in regressions for ACCT2060, ECON1020 and FINA3000 grades indicates that MATH1010 should be replaced with MATH2060 as prerequisite

The touted benefits are generally considered to be substantial cost savings, better productivity and more strategic use of scarce resources within the firm. In contrast, vertical integration has to some degree come to be viewed somewhat negatively the argument being that no single firm in todays competitive environment can possibly or should manage an extended enterprise. But as this series of case studies show, some firms are flourishing by going against prevailing logic and vertically integrating their supply chains

This study determines the impact of B Corp certification on consumers’ attitudes, consumers’ purchasing intention, and consumers’ willingness to pay price premium and investigates the moderating effect of demographics and psychographics on these relationships. A convenient sample of 133 Americans participated. Respondents were exposed to pictures of a product with and without the B Corp logo and meaning. Repeated measures on a single sample research method is applied. Findings indicate a significant overall effect of the certification with description on purchase intentions, willingness to pay a price premium and trust. Additionally, there is a significant moderating effect of consumer demographics on the relationship between certification and consumers’ purchase intentions, willingness to pay a price premium, and consumer trust. Results also suggest demographics moderate the impact of certification on purchase intention and consumer trust to a greater degree than on consumer willingness to pay price premium

Increasing by approximately 32% a year globally over the last five years, wind energy has proven to be a clean, abundant, and cost effective renewable source of energy. Wind energy is an important part of the strategy to replace fossil fuel electricity generation. Fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas currently generate over 70% of the power consumed in North America. The dramatic increase in the cost for fossil fuels and the growing pressure on the world's nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have combined to position wind power as the world’s fastest growing new source of electricity generation. This case study discusses a major producer of America’s wind energy, Wisconsin Energy Corporation (WEC), and their strategies and commitments to alternative energy and a more sustainable future. The company’s “triple bottom line” including economic, social, and environmental benefits will also be evaluated
