Assessing the development of second language syntax in Content and Language Integrated Learning
This study examined the effect of the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach on the English proficiency and syntax of a group of Andalusian learners. High-school students (n = 22) enrolled in CLIL and non-CLIL classes in the same school (I.E.S. Mariana Pineda) took an English proficiency test adapted from the University Entrance Examination. Students were assessed for syntactic development in English using an Elicited Imitation (EI) task in conjunction with an experimental design based on the syntactic properties of English. Pre-intervention academic achievement, socio-economic status (SES), and gender were included as covariates in the analyses. CLIL students scored significantly higher than non-CLIL students on the syntactic task (p = 0.002) and the proficiency test (p < 0.001). Results revealed a significant positive correlation between the scores obtained in the proficiency test and the EI task for the CLIL group (p < 0.01), but not for the non-CLIL group (p = 0.39). These findings advance a methodology to assess the English syntax of CLIL students.
An in-depth study of employees’ work engagement. Theoretical and practical implications for the governance of religious organisations
Currently, religious organisations constitute an unexplored context that represents
a fundamental role of the service sector in areas such as social services, education, and health.
These organisations exhibit a series of peculiarities that, in some respects, differentiate them
from other entities. They are defined by the services they provide and the particular way they
perform them. The transmission of values that prevail in their institutional culture is part of their
mission and shapes their operations. These organisations could be desirable to individuals who
identify with their foundational values. From this perspective, an essential factor in the
governance of these institutions and a pivotal element in the fulfilment of their mission is their
employees’ identification with their work. Employees may be authentic and live their spirituality
at work and engage with the institution’s values. In this context, servant leadership is by
excellence the leadership in these organisations. Servant leaders care about their workers’
benefits, put their needs first, and consider them in decision‐making
The Subjective Well-Being Challenge in the Accounting Profession: The Role of Job Resources
The main activity of the accountant is the preparation and audit of the financial information of a company. The subjective well-being of the accountant is important to ensure a balanced professional judgment and to offer a positive image of the profession in the face of the incorporation and retention of talent. However, accountants are subjected to intense pressures that affect their well-being in the performance of their tasks. In this paper, the job demands–resources theoretical framework is adopted
to analyze the relationships between job demands, job resources, and the subjective well-being of a large sample of 739 accounting experts at the European level. Applying a structural equations model, the results confirm, on the one hand, the direct effects provided in the theoretical framework and, on the other, a new mediating role of job demands–subjective well-being relationship resources

Kinetic models of migration of melamine and formaldehyde from melamine kitchenware with data of liquid chromatography
European legislation has established a specific migration limit (SML) of 15 mg kg−1 for formaldehyde and 2.5 mg kg−1 for melamine. Formaldehyde resins are used in the manufacture of melamine kitchenware. Formaldehyde is listed in group 1 of the IARC list of carcinogenic compounds. To determine the quantity of formaldehyde and melamine as potential migrants from different types of melamine kitchenware (glass, mug, cutlery, big cup and bowl), a HPLC-DAD method has been implemented. This method is an alternative to the ones proposed in technical guidelines to determine formaldehyde by UV–vis spectrophotometry and melamine by HPLC. The final objective was to fit the migration kinetic curves of these two analytes in melamine kitchenware.
After the method was validated, decision limit (CCα) and detection capability (CCβ) were calculated for both analytes, when the probabilities of false positive (α) and false negative (β) were fixed at 0.05; being CCβ 0.269 mg L−1 and 0.311 mg L−1 for melamine and formaldehyde respectively. CCα and CCβ were also calculated at the SML of both analytes.
The migration testing were conducted with simulant B (3% acetic acid (w/v) in aqueous solution), the conditions of each exposure being 70 °C for 2 h. The quantities of melamine and formaldehyde found in the third exposure of the total kitchenware analysed were between 0.21 and 1.09 mg L−1 and between 0.55 and 3.86 mg L−1, respectively.
Migration kinetic curves were built for each type of kitchenware with the data of sixteen consecutive migration cycles (70 °C each 30 min). The SML for melamine was surpassed in the mug, in the big cup and in the bowl after eleven, thirteen and one cycles, respectively.
When more cycles were carried out in the mug, the values of the accumulated quantity of formaldehyde and melamine were 15.30 and 6.79 mg L−1, respectively, after thirty-two cycles. Both concentrations exceeded the corresponding SML.MINECO (AEI/FEDER, UE) and Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Castilla y León through projects CTQ2017-88894-R and BU012P17 respectively (all co-financed with FEDER funds
Servant Leadership in a Social Religious Organization: An Analysis of Work Engagement, Authenticity, and Spirituality at Work
Religious organizations represent a main part of the third sector and the social economy. Social faith-based institutions have some unique features that, in some respects, differentiate them from other entities, as they are characterized and defined not only by the services they provide, but also by
how they provide them. It is part of their mission to convey the values that prevail in their institutional
culture while developing their activities, being attractive to those workers who identify with their
values. From this point of view, a key element of these entities’ success is that their employees feel
identified with their work so that they are engaged in the institution and its values. The style of
leadership exercised in such organizations is critical to fostering these attitudes and their long-term
survival. This paper aims to study the link between perceived servant leadership by followers
and work engagement, as well as the mediating role of authenticity and spirituality at work in this
relationship. To this end, 270 workers from a Spanish Catholic organization in the social sector were
surveyed. These data were processed by PLS (partial least squares). The results show that a servant
leadership style by itself does not directly promote work engagement among employees of the target
organization. The engagement of these workers comes through two mediating variables: authenticity
and spirituality at work. This study covers a gap in the literature because although there are studies
arguing that a strategy of servant leadership is critical to these organizations, to our knowledge, they
do not finish demonstrating the fundamental roles that attitudes of authenticity and spirituality at work play in the perception of this type of leadership, achieving greater work engagement
Improving Vegetables' Quality in Small-Scale Farms Through Stakeholders' Collaboration
[EN] Small farms are responsible for 80% of theworld¿s agricultural production although they have difficulties to meet the market quality requirements. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs where modern retailers invest in empowering small farmers have been implemented obtaining an increase of the supply chain (SC) profits in cases where supply and demand are balanced. In this paper, a MILP model based onWahyudin et al. (In: Proceedings of the international multiconference of engineers and computer scientists, Hong Kong, pp. 877¿882, [1]) to select the investments to carry out by modern retailers, and the product flow through the SC in situations of supply and demand imbalance is proposed. Its objective is to find out if collaboration programs have a positive impact on SC profits when supply and demand are not balanced. This model allows for the rejection of demand and product wastes. Results show that collaboration programs positively impact on the SC profits and consumer satisfaction level when there is an imbalance between demand and supply. The first author acknowledges the partial support of the Programme of

Métodos y Modelos Deterministas e Inciertos para la Gestión de Cadenas de Suministro Agroalimentarias
[EN] The market for agricultural products has grown substantially. At the same time, social concern in food issues such as
food safety, food quality, traceability and sustainability is constantly increasing. These reasons have pointed out the need of new
models and tools to manage the agri-food supply chains while considering the characteristics that differentiate them from other
industrial supply chains as well as the uncertainties present in the sector. Thus, the aim of this paper is to present the current
status of a project which mains objectives are to describe the complexity faced by agri-food supply chain decision makers, and
to develop new tools based on mathematical programming models to help the decision making process in agri-food supply chain
planning. These models novelty will include the consideration of the inherent characteristics of agri-food supply chains and the
sources of uncertainty present in the sector. The proposed models and tools will be applied to a real agri-food supply chain in
order to prove their validity and applicability and to compare the results obtained by deterministic and uncertain tools.[ES] El mercado de productos agrícolas está en continuo crecimiento, al igual que la preocupación social en temas
