Higgs Boson Mass, Sparticle Spectrum and Little Hierarchy Problem in Extended MSSM
We investigate the impact of TeV-scale matter belonging to complete
vectorlike multiplets of unified groups on the lightest Higgs boson in the
MSSM. We find that consistent with perturbative unification and electroweak
precision data the mass m_h can be as large as 160 GeV. These extended MSSM
models can also render the little hierarchy problem less severe, but only for
lower values of m_h < 125 GeV. We present estimates for the sparticle mass
spectrum in these models.Comment: 27 pages, 14 figure

Oxidation of aliphatic alcohols by triethylammonium chlorochromate in non-aqueous medium – A kinetic and mechanistic study
AbstractThe oxidation of some aliphatic alcohols by triethylammonium chlorochromate (TriEACC) in dimethyl sulfoxide leads to the formation of the corresponding carbonyl compounds. The reaction is first order with respect to TriEACC. The reaction exhibited Michaelis–Menten type kinetics with respect to alcohol. The reaction is catalyzed by hydrogen ions. The hydrogen-ion dependence has the form: kobs=a+b[H+]. The oxidation of [1,1-2H2] ethanol (MeCD2OH) exhibits a substantial primary kinetic isotope effect. Oxidation of aliphatic alcohol was studied in 19 different organic solvents. The solvent effect has been analysed using Kamlet’s and Swain’s multi-parametric equation. A suitable mechanism has been proposed
Lateral Antebrachial Cutaneous Nerve injury induced by phlebotomy
BACKGROUND: Phlebotomy is one of the routine procedures done in medical labs daily. CASE PRESENTATION: A 52 yr woman noted shooting pain and dysesthesia over her right side anterolateral aspect of forearm, clinical examination and electrodiagnostic studies showed severe involvement of right side lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve. CONCLUSION: Phlebotomy around lateral aspect of antecubital fossa may cause lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve injury, electrodiagnostic studies are needed for definite diagnosis
