This issue of the magazine won the Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) and Gold Award for single magazine publication and the Merit Award for cover graphic design. This dual achievement has only been attained by five schools in the nation. Merit Award for cover graphic design, this award recognizes excellence across the board, including writing, graphic design, photography and production. Criteria for the award included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal. GWU’s entry earned the highest marks for single magazine publication among institutions with 2,000 to 5,000 students. This issue includes several articles about awards and accolades given to students, staff, and Gardner-Webb programs. There is a short article announcing the addition of the Education Hall of Fame. Gardner-Webb\u27s online degrees and classes are praised. Many students are highlighted for their outreach in local and international communities, and several alumni are mentioned for their achievements and contributions to the school and community. Dr. Tom Meaders, a professor at Gardner-Webb is interviewed about his involvement in the Apollo 13 rescue mission. There is a section in the magazine dedicated to honoring those who have passed that impacted Gardner-Webb, and this issue honors several people including Mike Roebuck, Jim Wiles, Hoyt Bailey,Charles Tichenor, and John Brock. This issue won the Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) program Gold Award in the category of single magazine publication, an achievement reached by only three other universities in the nation.
