La forma della citt\ue0. Una prospettiva per l'Agenda 2030

Questa riflessione sul tema della citt\ue0 si concentra sulla necessit\ue0 che alle pratiche innovative contenute nell\u2019Agenda 2030 per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile corrisponda un'evoluzione decisiva delle strategie e degli strumenti che si mettono in campo per attuarle. Urbs \u2013 citt\ue0 \u2013 non si \ue8 mai distinta da Civitas (comunit\ue0): il legame tra la citt\ue0 e la collettivit\ue0 delle persone che la abitano \ue8 indissolubile. Oggi osserviamo, per\uf2, quanto questa relazione si sia affievolita. Una crisi che forse potrebbe essere riscattata da una nuova stagione di grande vitalit\ue0 culturale, accompagnata da atti concreti, intorno ai temi della citt\ue0, come pu\uf2 essere in occasione dell\u2019Agenda 2030. La possibilit\ue0 di riattivare delle politiche collettive \u2013 e come tali condivise e proattive \u2013 passa attraverso un ripensamento dell\u2019attuale approccio alla pianificazione, che si \ue8 impoverito di valori fondamentali in confronto all\u2019esperienza della citt\ue0 storica. Per recuperare la dimensione umana della pianificazione urbana si ritiene necessario tornare a mettere al centro della questione la forma urbis. L\u2019approccio metodologico seguito \ue8 di tipo storico-critico, osservando in chiave analitica l\u2019evoluzione delle logiche e delle dinamiche di costruzione della citt\ue0, in comparazione tra passato e presente. Gli esiti dovrebbero contribuire ad argomentare come una maggiore progettazione urbana, all\u2019interno del fare urbanistica, pu\uf2 rappresentare un fattore determinante per portare al successo le politiche dell\u2019Agenda 2030

Analysis device: mega-structures on the threshold

The urban framework experiences a permanent face-off with transformation and 47 evolution processes, both inside and outside it, and also on the thresholds. The connections toward a more territorial frame, such as the network of infrastructures are more evident at this stage because of a lower density. The visible interfaces within the city boundaries, as a sort of urban gates, are not only infrastructures, but also large industrial complexes. Beyond every single case, with its own characteristics, all these situations concern huge artifacts in which architectural qualities are also recognized. Following my present PhD research path on the scientific mega-structures and their role inside the architectural practice, I will explicit how they could be an efficient device as a provocative case of study to struggle the citys capacity to menage its thresholds. The relation with both the city, on one side, and the nature on the other but also within more complex area in which these two entities are not so distinct can be studied in a register of different scales: from the architectonic level of a laboratory building to the landscape of an antenna, 3 kilometers long, for gravitational wave. It is not just a matter of discussing the placement of these structures, but also how their strong symbolic meaning can be managed and absorbed by the city
