Quality of data governance and its impacts on corporate performance management

Nowadays, data plays vital role in life of modern organizations. However, data management and especially, data quality are unsatisfied in most of them. Recently, new methodology, known as Data Governance was developed. This methodology defines roles, responsibilities, standards and policies for Data Management. Literature shows that, complete conceptualization of factors affecting Data Governance quality is missing. There is also a limited research regarding the effects of Data Governance quality on the corporate performance management. This study is prepared to analyze and fill this gap. Through conceptualization of Data Governance based on literature, we have developed conceptual framework or model. Five variables, which affect Data Governance quality were identified in this framework: (1) Data Stewardship and Ownership, (2) Data Integration, (3) Data Modeling, (4) Data Quality and (5) Compliance with policies. This model defines above mentioned factors of Data Governance quality and how Data Governance impacts corporate performance management. The practical part of this study is based on interview, considering this framework. This research also approves, that the poor Data Governance has negative influence on corporate performance. So, organization needs to increase quality of its Data Governance to improve business performance and to realize full business value.Nowadays, data plays vital role in life of modern organizations. Comparing the Effects of Combined General/Epidural Anaesthesia and General Anaesthesia on Serum Cytokine Levels in Radical Cystectomy.

Objective: Surgical stress combined with general anaesthesia (GA) suppresses the immune system and leads to cancer cell growth and premature metastasis in major oncological interventions. Epidural analgesia decreases the need for inhalation agents and opioids during surgery by suppressing sympathetic and neuroendocrine responses in the postoperative period. This study aimed to compare the effects of combined general/epidural anaesthesia (GEA)+patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) and GA+IV patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) on serum tumour necrosis factor-alpha TNF-alpha), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma)levels in patients undergoing radical cystectomy

Use of wavelength interaction terms to improve near infrared spectroscopy models of donkey’s milk properties

Ranchers are continuously searching for suitable tools to rapidly and inexpensively assess the characteristics of donkey milk and because spectroscopic models are useful to assess the composition of many foods, an attempt to further improve the prediction performance of donkey milk protein, lactose and dry-matter content has been made using three widely used spectroscopic models by adding some interaction terms, namely product, ratio, sum and difference of absorbances for each couple of wavelengths. Principal component regression using product terms showed an improvement in prediction error achieving 1.8%, 1.7% and 0.9% for protein, lactose and dry-matter content respectively. Furthermore, the added ratio terms showed a very great improvement in the predictive overall performance achieving 0.3%, 0.4% and 0.2%. A coefficient has been found relating the widely used RPD, a standard index of prediction performance, to the new proposed “range of confident prediction error percent” being a more understandable parameter to assess the goodness of the prediction model

Potential of finite element method to optimize the olive harvester machine (hand‐held rotary harvester)

The mechanical damage of olive caused by harvesting machines is one of the main reasons for the quality reduction of produced olive oil. The hand-held rotary harvester (RH) is a machine that is used in small orchards extensively. The present paper focuses on utilizing the finite element method (FEM) to define the percentage of bruising damage by RH with two different materials of the head component (Ethylene Propylene Rubber and Neoprene). Three cultivars, ripening stage, and rotational speeds of RH head components were considered for experimental and simulation methods. The controlled impactor device was developed to validate the simulation process. The simulation and experimental results showed the Ethylene Propylene Rubber head produced less stress and bruise volume than the Neoprene head. Moreover, the quality characteristics of extracted olive oil, including free fatty acid, peroxide value, K232 and K270 coefficients, total chlorophyll, total carotenoid, total phenol, and total flavonoid were measured. Finally, the correlation of quality characteristics of olive oil, measured bruise volume and simulated was investigated using linear model and principal components analysis
